Guest guest
My daughter is on lexapro and I want to get her off. She takes it for anxiety and and is adhd. My pharmacist who is also a nutritionist told me to give her 5htp (tryptophan) every night for a week before getting off, Then take 5htp every night. It helps with sleep and depression and anxiety. I took it in the 80's and I loved it. Deb so, how long > did this feeling last? (I'm fine otherwise, not depressed, anxious, tired, etc). I dunno, i Hope thats the reason b/c my psychiatrist was like making me feel abd that I needed to go back on i like i shud be concerned or sumtin, he sucks! I did my wean extremely slowly over a course of four months, so perhaps I didn't get similar w/d symptoms to yours due to my slower wean. However, after ceasing the Lex, about three weeks after taking my last half pill, I really started to feel wretched (more mentally than physically). I think I'm finally starting to feel a little better, however, now... about 6 weeks off Lex,... so perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel. I don't want to have to go back on it unless the " wretchedness " doesn't go away. I'll give it a few months. --Diane --- <angiegirl454@...> wrote: > > I recently decided to go off of Lexapro for a number > of reasons. Guest guest
I'm now about six weeks off the Lex, and feeling a *tiny* bit better (like, maybe this awful " wretched feeling " will indeed pass). I recall it was just a day or two before Thanksgiving that I took my last 5 mg. tablet (I wish now that I'd written the exact day down on my calendar). I think I did pick a bad time to complete my wean-off, coz then I was thrown right into the Xmas Season (always stressful for me), and I could just *barely* cope with it. In fact, I was so stressed out over the Office Xmas Party that I called in sick that day. Yee gads. --Diane --- Danny Azarnejad <aze491980@...> wrote: > I have felt that way too and went back on the meds > agai nat 10 mg b/c i guess ive had so many things in > my life recently that i need to adjsut to it wasnt > the best time for me to come off it. Guest guest
I went back on Lexapro after a time off. But a week after starting with 10 mg, I found myself in hospital with what they called gastroenteritis and elevated BP. They sent me home the next day with some Fentergin suppositories. When I felt well enough, I went back on Lexapro. Same thing happened, though I didn't go to hospital. Off I went again. The other day I took 10 mg once again. Major diarrhea. So I'm off for good. My solutions? Prayer, Bible study, and Dr. Jesus. Thea -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Guest guest
Hi everyone. I started taking Lexapro app. 3 months ago. It has helped me a lot with my anxiety and my mood swings a lot but, I can't stand the sexual side effects of this drug. This is very frustrating and I was not informed of this side effect or I wouldn't have agreed to take this medicatin. My point is that I haven't taken my Lexapro in a week now. I was taking 20 mg a day. So far, I haven't had any withdrawal symptoms to speak of. I am wondering if withdrawal symptoms occur, how long does it take for them to occur and how long would they last once a person stops their medication? I do not wish to go back on this medication as I will be trying some vitamin/mineral supplements to see how they help. Any input is appreciated. Guest guest
My doctor told me about a little trick you can play on the Lexapro when wanting to be romantic with your honey. Only problem is that it's not very spontaneous. Say " the " day is Friday....don't take your Lex on Weds. or Thurs. Everything should work fine then. I know it's a bummer, but if you need the meds it's worth it. Hope this helped some. Bev

Had to stop taking pills. Guest guest
Well, sex is sex. And some people have a different way of talking about it. Not everyone knows the clinical terms. Sexual sides are a big part of many AD's for many people. The wording could have been chosen a bit better. Gotta say this: I had no trouble understanding exactly what problem he was having as *his* sexual side. Barbara Re: Going off Lexapro Do we really need to have such disgusting language in this group?
