Guest guest
My mother has osteoarthritis, so did her mother when she was alive. No, I have not got it checked out. Not too fond of drs. LOL I have recently had problems with my lower back and around my hips. Very strange. Kim > What type of arthritis does your mother have, Kim? Guest guest
Lizzy- That is a bummer about the reaction! I'm glad that, through it all, you at least had a couple of good pain-free days. I am at the in between treatments stage. I can't take the MTX anymore cause of my liver, and am waiting for the results of my liver function test (done 8/6/01) to see if my liver has stablized (I don't know it that is the right word). Anyway, soon as that comes back, I go back to the Rheumy for Plan " C " . What is an Edema? Just curious. > Hi and Everyone, > I haven't been on for a week. Guest guest
Hi and Everyone, I haven't been on for a week. I took my first Enbrel shot last Wednesday and ended up in ER that night with Chest Pain, Shortness of Breath, Edema, A severe reaction to Enbrel So now I can;t take anymore of that per Rhuematologist. Next week he's going to try Remicade Infusion, after Pre-Medicating me with Prednisone and Benadryl. This is the 2nd reaction I've had, The first was to a shot of MTX- Now I can take pill form only-They don't make Enbrel in pill form do they ? I seem to be allergic to the dillutent in all this stuff-anyway, After the reaction, either due to the Enbrel OR/AND Prednisone I had the greatest 3 days (No Pain), With a very high energy level also....It was Fantastic. My legs, face were grossly swollen for 4 days, and off and on SOB BUT It was worth it, I felt wonderful. I sure hope the Remicade works like that for me. We'll find out next week. Guest guest
Hi , Nice to hear from you. Edema is swelling. It's ok and kind of funny, My legs are usually like toothpicks (I'm always called Chicken Legs) they are pretty ugly sticks LOL... Anyway, Because of the Edema (Huge swelling, fluid) I had some Great looking legs!! :) Plus, I had those 2-3 fantastic days, It was all worth it!LOL. Sorry to hear that your in between treatments, How are you feeling throughout this? Pain and otherwise? Take Care. Guest guest
Liz, Thanks for the really funny mental picture...LOL. I have been doing pretty good for the last couple of weeks, of and on between 1-3 on the pain scale. Today, however, I am having terrible pain in my toes and knees. Sharp pain when I take too hard of a step or put too much weight on them. Thank you for your kind concern. I am trying my best not to let it bother me. But you know how that is. You can only kweep that facade up for a couple of days. Can't wait for my next appointment. Emotionaly, I am doing well. God and I have talked and our relationship is back on track. When it is not on track, nothing goes well. I am finished being angry and feeling sorry for myself. It is time to move on. > > > Hi and Everyone, > > > I haven't been on for a week. Guest guest
For goodness sakes Kim... BURST IN anytime!!! This list is for everybody, not just a few! Anyway, with all our memory problems, we HAVE to " burst in " , and ask our questions fast...least we forget them !!! As far as same symptons as your mom. My middle daughter shows all same symptoms as mine, only on a slightly lesser degree of pain, as me. Only mine did not start until late 30's, and hers is starting now at age 24. She has a premature delievery at 24 weeks pregnancy 2 years ago, due to a massive untreated bladder infection she had...caused early delievery. I think that may have been a trigger for her symptoms now. Makes me wonder if maybe if Mom's do " tend to pass " something down to a daughter, if it will show up a little sooner in them than it did us. Guest guest
Thank you and PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR BEING SO SELFISH ON WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME. Just know I HAVE CRIED MANY MANY TEARS FOR ALL OF YOU LAST WEEK WHEN I WAS READING THIS WEBSITE. GOD HAS ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF ME AND MY HEALTH AND I HAVE ALWAYS TURNED TO HIM TO DO THAT. I had a malignant cyst that was removed and have been malignant free for ten years. I have had two miscarriages and realized that when GOD IS READY TO GIVE ME A CHILD, IT WILL BE WHEN MY BODY IS READY. HE KNEW MY BODY WAS NOT READY AND HE TOOK CARE OF ME. I CAN have children, though it will be hard, but GOD HAS MY BEST INTERESTS IN MIND AND I KNOW THAT, when the time is right, it will happen. I am so sorry I have not been more supportive with your situation. I have never encountered people like my PS in my life, so all of this is very hard for me right now but I WILL BE THERE FOR YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE. I WILL BE A MUCH STRONGER AND WISER PERSON NOW THAT I DO KNOW that everyone is not good and people are driven by greed. I have been in denial of what my body was telling me and have realized something new everyday, THAT NOW MAKES SENSE. For me to get this out and also realize my part in all of this for NOT LISTENING and AND ALL OF YOU letting me and not judging me, is so kind and I can't thank you enough for that. I want to get it out, so THAT IF SOME OTHER WOMEN IS IN DENIAL, she doesn't make the same mistake. I wish alot of this was that I was emotional and I don't know the sequence of everything and I am confused with what happened BUT THE FACT IS I AM NOT, EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED AND THE TIME IT HAPPENED, I denied and I DO NOT WANT that to happend to somebody else. I need to acknowledge that to move on and never let that happen to me again. I WILL NEVER FORGET FOR WHAT ALL OF YOU HAVE DONE and THE KIND WORDS you have given me.
