Guest guest
I would just be honest and tell him you dont like them. You are paying him to take them out so it should matter to him why you are doing it. I doubt you have capsules as well as it hasnt been long enough. But do get them out. Insurance probably wont pay to have them removed. >From: "absmile1" >Reply- > >Subject: Decided to explant after 2 months...need help... >Date: Mon, 15 Sep 2003 17:17:12 -0000 > >I had a b/a two months ago...smooth, saline, round, under muscle, >armpit incision. > >They haven't dropped at all...which I am thinking is a blessing in >disguise...because I HATE them. Guest guest
Hi, In your situation, I would think you could go back to your surgeon and tell him plain and simply that you don't like them. It is really hard to argue with that. I mean, if you don't like them, you don't like them, that's all that needs to be said. He may try to talk you into taking more time to get used to them, or offering some other "solution", but since you are so soon after the initial surgery, you may be lucky and he might just agree to remove them for you. I doubt that you have to worry about scar tissue at this point, possibly, but not probably. I do know a woman who had implants for 4 months, and she did have scar tissue and unfortunately had to go through a second surgery to remove it after only having the implants out and not getting better. She suffers symptoms just like most of us who are sick have....very sad. Some plastic surgeons offer a no-charge surgery within the first year under certain circumstances... I know mine did, and would have removed mine for free if I had let him. You may want to ask him about this, but he probably would have discussed this during the initial consult. You can ask him, I guess. It can't hurt. I definitely would not say anything about wanting them out until you are in the room with the doctor. Don't tell anyone ahead of time. Just take a gentle but firm stance, and if they are not respectful of that, then I would question even letting them take them out of you. We had one former member of this group who went through this very thing, but her surgeon got ugly about it when she insisted upon removal, and took no care in how he removed them, leaving her horribly scarred. He used staples instead of stitches and she was left with large railroad track scars under her breasts. It was almost like he took revenge upon her for requesting removal. Very unethical situaion, and for this reason, I would suggest a totally new, unbiased doctor for explant if the one you are dealing with shows a lack of respect for your decision. If it costs anything at all, I wouldn't expect it to be more than the fee for anesthesia and room costs. I hope your surgeon will be very understanding, and not try to charge you alot, but then again, his fee is his fee. He may not be willing to waive it. I also doubt if insurance would cover any of this, as it is elective cosmetic surgery, even if they sit too high for your comfort. Please let us know how it goes!
