Guest guest
I was just wondering if there are any new class action suits going on with the saline implants? If my problems turn out to be implant related, I would like to see legislation passed that informs women before implantation that autoimmune reactions are possible. I was told only that saline is the " safe " implant. Thanks for any info, :)Beth
Guest guest
Beth, I asked this question of Toxic Discovery Network several years ago...here is a copy of our communication.(it is chronologically backwards, so start at the bottom.) At this point in time, I do not believe anything has changed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Breast Implant Information" <breastimplantinfo@...> "Patty" <faussettdp@...> Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2000 6:22 PM Subject: Re: Class action Patty,We can find nothing on a Class Action being established on this.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` ----- Original Message ----- From: Patty Breast Implant Information Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2000 12:33 PM Subject: Re: Class action any info yet? Sent: Saturday, September 02, 2000 9:26 AM Subject: Class action Hi, I recently received a report from Dr. Pierre Blais about my implants, which I had sent to him for analysis. In his report, he confirms that my implants were McGhan saline, inflatable, style 168, which apparently were defectively manufactured and incorporate a serious valve defect. He states that the valve defect causes the implant to become infested with micro-organisms which grow within the saline filling solution, and that this can have serious consequences to the users. While implants inserted between the years of 1984 and 1993 are eligible for compensation under several breast implant Class Actions, he did mention that in my case, there has been no Class Action as of yet, and that it is probable that many individual or Class Actions will be launched against Inamed and related firms. He also states that in some cases the devices were misrepresented to users. I would like your opinion on the probability of a Class Action lawsuit regarding these defective products, and what I can personally do to attempt to get some compensation for the suffering I have experienced as a result of my faulty implants. I personally have felt that it is a lost battle against the manufacturers, but my husband is urging me to seek some legal counsel, even saying I should contact Brockovich! Do you know of any movement toward a class action on behalf of those who have received these devices with the faulty valve defect? Any information you can provide is appreciated. I believe I am on your registry--please advise me if I am not. Thanks, Patty Faussett ----- Original Message ----- From: bethlakey Sent: Monday, September 15, 2003 9:30 AM Subject: Any new class action suits in the works?
