My doctor is a good guy, just relatively clueless in some areas. He's thin,

healthy and not very understanding about people who aren't sometimes. It

took me nearly a year, and finally walking into the office while covered

with hives to convince them that I wasn't just joking about being allergic

to exercise<g>.

I live in a really small town and that means a lack of specialists. It's

fairly common for people to assume that if you're fat you're simply eating

too much. I've talked to more than enough people to know that that isn't

always the case. I've LOST hundreds of pounds over my lifetime, between

babies and stress eating and my mother putting me on one horrible diet after

another as a kid/teen. (ever actually *been* on the cabbage soup diet? I

have).

Metabolism? What's that?

<shrug> His specialty isn't weight loss or diet. The poor guy was trying

to muddle through food allergies and this weird exercise reaction, so I

suppose I can give him a break.

We had his Memorial service on June 8th. It was atime to celebrate his life... I sang a beautiful song called Ten Thousand Angels by Lynn . If any of you get the chance please go to mp3.com and type in ten thousand angels in the search engine for the web page. Make sure it's the one by Lynn . It is such an inspirational song and it lifts you up when your down.

May has been the worst month so far this year. It has to get better...

My ICD implant surgery is still very tender. I have a hard time doing much of anything right now, I am so depressed. I am praying this will get better. I heard it takes about 4 months to heal from this procedure, is this right???

I am not driving my car right now, I can't wear my seat belt on the left shoulder, it hurts alot if I try.

I sure hope better days are ahead. God bless You all!

: Don't know if you said where you are from. Not that that is necessarily going to make a difference. I live in California and was able to start driving short distance a few weeks after surgery. I did not use my seatbelt at that time and figured if caught I would show my card and ICD scar. Not having a lot of help to get around kinda forced this issue. I was however extra careful to make them short trips, no kids in the car and no night driving. My surgery was 3-4-02 and now I am able to use seatbelt and am still careful but driving. Fear of another Cardiac Arrest was the hardest part to get over. When I had mine I felt myself passing out first and should it ever happen then hope that I feel it ahead again. 3-4months is about right for healing and I'm just hitting 3months now. So much better.....

Glad to hear your peg combo went well.. Which one did you use Pegetron or Pegasys My latest dr is licensed to dispense under experemental law. I may have a choice so, would be interested in hearing which has had the best results.I would also like to know if any of you having done 2 therapies worked through them I treid but only managed 3 months of 7 have great insuarnce and job guarantee and dr support.. But curious as to folks with good coverage if they have used it or hung in there.....I tried but ending up really sick....I was also positive after 7nmonths actually my viral load increased on it..lol And did not fair well as to side efects...

I have a puppy as well and enjoy his company : - )

Hi I'm Teri, one r from Iowa. I'm a type 1a, diagnoised in 98, biopsey said some scarring, early stage. Did reg. combo therapy, was a non-responder, and it kicked my butt for 8 mos. So sorry to hear you don't have the peg combo therapy there. Just finished Peg combo in Sept. went undetectable at six mos, and still after 48wks. It was a piece of cake compared to the first time, really didn't have any sides when you compare it. Wish you could come to the states then you could do it, they have been having excellent results, two other guys in the support group finished just before me and they also went undetectable, both 1a's. So sorry to hear you have a real need for a liver.

I have no idea what the statistics are on getting a livertransplant here are. . I just re-read your letter to Judy saying you can do a experimental program, take it

you will not be sorry.

My friend Marcus thinks the reason I had a real easy time of it on the Peg was due to my treatment on what you just did, so maybe it will work that way for you.

Guess what I was watching a re-run of Jay Leno the other night and he had that on his show, he had titled it the naughty

penguin, very cute. As you can see I'm kind of fond of cats, I have 20, 1 dog and a cockatiel. I don't know what I would have done without them through all of this. They are my babies. Welcome to our group! Like says, we are just normal people

who are happy to have someone who understands what we are going

through all stick together. I've gotten a lot of encouragement on

this board and feel I have made some friends....even though I don't

see them. We pretty much tell it like it is for us, good and bad.

Thank you for the information. Skyeler will be receiving his 6th IVIG this

Friday. So far so good. He has not had the side effects that most get;

actually, he enjoys going and telling the nurses how to do their job!!!

Looking back on the calendar's, I first mentioned IVIG treatments to his

doctors in 1998; no one took me seriously.

Good luck to you and your family. I am hopeful that our trip out west

(Denver) will shed a light on my little man's health.
