Guest guest
I've heard stories both ways about this. I'm also new to Lexapro and I've decided I'm pretty much going to wait and see. I thought my apetite may have increased but I'm really up only a pound or so over three weeks so I don't know. Guest guest
I've noticed that from time to time I have either lost my desire to eat or, like lately, I just want to keep eating. No one can really say how long this will last with you because everyone is different. ak --- garciatre05 <garciatre05@...> wrote: > hi everyone i am new to this site and to depression > medication, my doc > put me on lexapro i hope for a short time while i am > having some > depression over a realationship breakup. i have only > been on lexapro > for a week i take 10mg at night. i have noticed that > my appetite has > left me. this is a great thing to me as i have > issues with my weight > and fear gaining weight. this is the one thing that > would make me stop > taking this medication. has anyone elese experienced > appetite loss, i > do not see this listed as a side effect but today i > don't seem to want > food at all. i'm wondering if this is short term or > a much wanted side > effect. any input would be greatly appreciated. > > > >
Guest guest
First let me say that my internet access is limited so apologies if any posts directed towards me have been " ignored " . Not intentional. As far as the " appetite issue " goes it seems to be a " split decision " . I have had people agree with me, that they felt their appetite INCREASED SUBSTANTIALLY once on Lexapro. Yet it has had a " diet pill " effect, obviously, on at least two people writing in (on?) this topic. Guess we all have to agree to disagree ?............tony. tony. --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min. Guest guest
well, like it's been said many times Lex effects different people differently. I've had it effect my appetite both ways. ak --- tony m <tm0418222@...> wrote: > First let me say that my internet access is limited > so apologies if any posts directed towards me have > been " ignored " . > > Not intentional. > > As far as the " appetite issue " goes it seems to be a > " split decision " . > > I have had people agree with me, that they felt > their appetite INCREASED SUBSTANTIALLY once on > Lexapro. > > Yet it has had a " diet pill " effect, obviously, on > at least two people writing in (on?) this topic. > > Guess we all have to agree to disagree > ?............tony. > > > tony. > > > --------------------------------- > Talk is cheap. Guest guest
AGREED AUDREY ! One person gets hungry 24/7...another feels like it's a diet pill...one person has to sneak off for naps during work....another wakes at 4:30 a.m. and can't get back to sleep ! ALSO.....symptoms can change over time. I really feel being on ANY medication for AT LEAST 2 MONTHS will indicate.... a)Whether the medication is working for you. What your persistent symptoms are going to be if you stay on that medication. c) Lexapro is working out for me so far.The transition from Luvox has been smooth with no increase in OCD symptoms. (I know a LOT of you take it for anxiety and depression...I mainly take it for my OCD.) (I take OTHER medications to stabilize my manic depression.) Of course NO MEDICATION is going to keep me from at least occasional mild depressive episodes that I've had since I found out a week ago, that my beautiful little cat, who I love so dearly, is fatally ill. > > well, like it's been said many times Lex effects > different people differently.
