Guest guest
While there are herbs and vitamins that can help with depression, espeically if one is suffering from a deficiency and there are defeciencies linked to depression and anxiety, don't believe everything you read. I looked at the ingredients. It contains St 's Wort and B- Vitamins among them. Both known to help with depression. St. 's Wort works for mild to moderate depressions. For clincal and deep depressions it wasn't shown to have any effect. B-12 and other B-vitamins can help but please do the research and learn which B vitamins to be careful using. B-6 for instance, if you take too much of it you can cause peripheral neuropathy. St 's Wort can interact and react with a good number of drugs out there so look that up as well. Don't forget to check on the other ingredients. Their claims are ludicrous however: " Cures depression within 15 minutes. " Nope, doesn't work that way. And look at the price and then price out the individual ingredients. And of course there is the placebo affect. :-) Barbara vilift Has anyone heard of Vilift? Here is the website. Guest guest
I see Vilift contains St s wort - a well known natural anti depressant - in fact may a-d manufacturers warn against taking it at the same time as an a-d because it can increase the serotonin effects - its best to come off an a-d before trying it - foods containing tryptophan are also good as the body uses this to crerate serotonin and melatonin  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryptophan  From: starbridgett <starbridgett@...> Subject: vilift Lexapro Date: Friday, 5 September, 2008, 4:09 PM Has anyone heard of Vilift? I feel a lot better than I did in the past but lately I have been having some agitation later in the day. I called my doc today we'll see what she says. >
