Guest guest
, Well, what I understand from my PS is when the FDA banned silicone implants, the FDA in 1992 has allowed silicone implants only in cases of breast reconstruction, correction of deformities(that is what I would classify as) or replacement of damaged implant. If you receive silicone in or after 1992 and you HAVE NOT HAD SILICONE IMPLANTS BEFORE 1992,YOU HAVE TO SIGN A CONSENT FORM TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS STUDY AND TO RECEIVE SILICONE SINCE THEY ARE NOT LEGAL. This study is how they are trying to bring silicone back. They are enrolling people who qualify(or who knows if they do or not) and trying to prove to the FDA THAT SILICONE implants are safe because THESE WOMEN HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS. IN MY CASE, I DID HAVE PROBLEMS, AND IF THAT IS WHAT KIND OF IMPLANTS I HAD, MENTOR AND DOCTERS WANT THEM BACK, SO NOBODY FINDS OUT THE TRUTH OF WHAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING. THAT IS WHY THEY HAD ME SIGN CONSENT OVER TO THEM TO GET THEM BACK. I don't know what kind of implants I had because like I said I NEVER GOT ANY PAPERWORK OR info on my implants when I went in for my BA in 1999. That is what frustrates me and at this point, I don't think honesty is on my side when it comes to MY PS AND MENTOR, so I don't think I will ever know.
