Patty: I was explanted three months ago and feel great!!! So good in fact I treated myself to some seriously needed liposuction on my hips. All the exercise in the world wouldnt get rid of it. I have more energy than before, but not as much as I'd like, but I'd say I'm well on my way.

Daryl is still not on her computer yet, but I saw her yesterday. Dear Patty,

I was explanted october 10, 2003. Lot of my symptoms have eased, I am under Naturpath doctors, at the moment they have given me a mixture to have three times a day which is helpful in detoxing my liver, blood, and lymphatic nodes. I feel much better and sleep well too.

My blood work is on 25th November, lets see if there is any improvement in that, I was detected with Lupas and had very high ANA. Vickie <vickiemsmith17@...> wrote:

Hi Patty:

I was explanted eight days ago and I'm still not up to par. I think maybe some of my fatique is due to anesthesia. Hopefully, I will have a good

report in few more weeks, I'm really looking forward to improvement.

Patty,

My explant was six weeks ago and my symptoms worsened immediately after surgery. I felt as if I would never get any strength back, but I have. My head and eyes still feel extremely strange and it is very frustrating but my leg aches are not as frequent. I hope the new naturopath I am seeing will be able to help me, she is taking things slow with me since I am so hypersensitive. I am having some bloodwork done the end of the month to see if my rheumatoid is still slightly elevated.

Hi Mimi!

I am so happy to hear of your explant and that you have been feeling better. And definitely sleeping better is a blessing too! I am also glad to hear that you are under the care of a naturopath. It is my opinion, (shared with many others, including Dr. Weil) that allopathic doctors really don't treat chronic diseases well. I think you are much better off going the natural healing route with this high ANA, and I do hope that your blood work has shown some improvement. It might be too early to tell, but if you are detoxing your liver and doing other natural healing therapies in your life, this is probably the best thing for you. Take care, and keep in touch. I'm staying very optimistic about your healing!

Hi Debbye,

Congratulations on your explant! I do remember you posting that you were going through with it, and I know you were relieved to have it over. (Aren't we all?) Eight days is still pretty early to be feeling chipper yet. I am sure you will need some time to clear out the anesthesia and other effects from the surgery. They say it takes about 6 weeks for the immune system to bounce back after surgery, so just take it easy, be patient, and if you see a little worsening of symptoms around the 6 week marker point, don't be stressed out, because that sometimes happens. Healing takes time. But you are on your way!

God bless,

Patty

Patty,

Thanks for asking - I am doing very well. I had another surgery on October 1st to drain the seroma from my left breast which was a result of my explant in March. Getting a Dr to do the seroma surgery was not easy - but a local surgeon agreed. There were a few arguments between my family doctor, the original explant doctor and the surgeon along the way - but it's done, I had a drain, and am on the road to recovery. I am feeling much better than before explant. My lower back & joint pain has lessened and my energy level is getting back to normal. I don't feel like I have flu like symptoms. My brain fog, memory, and speech is even improving. I know that it will take some time. I've been working alot lately. I need to get back to exercising regularly and paying very close attention to my diet. I know that will help. What I really want is to get off my thyroid medicine (Synthroid). I have an appointment to meet the a Naturaopathic doctor is a few week.

Ladies considering explant -

Don't listen to the doctors that tell you these symptoms are in your head - they are DEFINITELY NOT!

I was implanted with saline in 1991 - my health troubles began in 1995 - explanted in 2003. If you don't address the issues early - they will only get worse. Those saline bags of water in our chests cannot stay there indefinetly without causing some form of problems. Your health is much more important than (hard) big breasts. Hope and pray that you are guided to the right decisions.

Hi Everyone -

I was explanted on 9/26 and feel almost like my old self again. I

don't think the numbess in my left arm and leg has been there since

the first week after the explant. My back pain is gone - except

typical stress related pain. I know I made the right decision and

credit my doctor and this website for helping me with the process.

Thank you.

Right on girl, so happy to hear your doing better. Please refresh us,

what were your symptoms before explant? What are you doing now to get

well? It sounds like more and more girls are getting better faster

and with less and less work(detox) than ever! That is so good to

know! I used to feel like I was one of the only ones who got well

without doing a huge detox program!

Hi Patty!

I was explanted in August. I have been spending a lot of time in bed lately. I got a sinus infection a couple of weeks ago and what would normally be better in a few days has knocked me on my butt for a while.

I have days where I feel almost normal...they are usually followed by a few days where I feel bad. I went for a while after explant free from my fibromyalgia, but now it flares up occasionally in my left shoulder and elbow...but compared to how it was before, this is still a great improvement. The worst thing for me now is the fatigue...it is really what keeps me from doing a lot.

I keep reminding myself that I've only been implant free for under three months and I need to give myself time to heal. I have my " poor me " days, but I'm doing alright.

My friends expect me to be well now and go out all the time. It's hard to be so young and not be able to go and do things. I have not been able to resume dancing....which is extremely hard for me, since it is one of my favorite things.

I am waiting to hear back from the social security office to see if they will approve me for disability or not. I have been doing a little work from home when I feel like it.

Thank you for thinking about me!

Colleen

Hi -

I would like to say that I am into the 'detox' stuff - but I am

not. I tried to take pills that I bought from my healthfood store -

I took them for 3 days and they made me sick to my stomach - quit.

I always eat fairly healthy, take vitamins / supplements and I walk

my dog about 2 miles a day.

My pre-explant symptoms were - numbness in left arm/leg, pain in

neck/upper and lower back. I also started seeing spots and my head

would feel weird every once in awhile. I was fortunate b/c my pain

only started in July of this year - I was explanted 9/26. I was

seeing a back specialist who suggested I research the breast

implants and how they might be the causation of my pain - that is

when I found this site. I feel that my pain went away so fast b/c

the implants did not have time to wear on my body the way they do to

some.

Glad you were able to heal as well. I am ready to put this whole

breast adventure behind me!

Hi Colleen,

I'm sorry to hear about your nasty bout with the sinus infection....bummer!

Just so you know, those ups and downs with alternating good days and bad days is so classic with our illnesses. You are healing probably just the way almost all of us have experienced it so far. Being patient, and keeping up with some detoxing therapies will help you feel better in the long run.

I remember how it felt to be unable to take part in social activities and really enjoy going out after getting sick. It stinks. I really hope you will be feeling like dancing soon! You'll have to keep us posted about the disability decision. I almost hate to see you go through it, but at the same time, totally understand the need. In time, I know you will be able to live normally again, or at least very close to it, because of all the wonderful testimonies of the women here who have gotten better too. Hang in there, it all just takes time.

Maybe you can even start a successful home business! Keep us posted on your progess. Thanks for writing Colleen!

Hugs,

Patty

Colleen it sounds like your about where you should be or where you

would expect to be at least to me. I know that it took me a good 6

months to feel a big difference in my health after explant. It just

took time. You will get there though I am sure of it. Just make sure

to eat healthy and to get up and move around, get some kind of

exercise in, as much as you can. It will truly help you get better.

Hang in there, and keep us up to date on things.

Kacey

I think some of us just don't tolerate some vitamins and things very

well. Others do great on them. It is very individual and what works

for one will not always work for the next person. We all just need to

work on finding the things that help us and then take it from

there. That is why this group is so helpful, you can read about what

everyone else did that is getting better or is better and then

implement things into your life and see how it works out. For me

working out seemed to be a huge thing in my recovery! That and a

healthy diet. I wish I could say I stick to a healthy diet lately! Oh

well I try to anyhow. I eat plenty of good food, the problem is

sometimes I eat the bad stuff too! I am glad to know your doing

better, it is so sad how sick you got at such a young age! It really

sucks that implants are available to young women, like you, that

there is no one protecting the young women in this country, from

totally destroying their health over fake breasts. What a total shame.

Anyhow, hang in there, you will keep on getting better over time.

Hugs
