Guest guest
I just received several kind and warm communications from Dr. Melmed in response to the letter I wrote to him, and he was very kind, and I am sure he is a very compassionate doctor. I believe he truly understands the situation we face, and is concerned and compassionate about our illnesses. I won't post the letter without his permission, but he basically stated that we need to realize that his focus was on the silicone gel situation at hand, and his desire is that implants only be used for reconstruction. His emphasis was on the fact that saline implants could be considered a "safer" alternative, not a safe alternative, the difference just being in that little letter "r." I just wanted you to know that he responded, and he was extremely kind in his response. Patty
Guest guest
I figured he was aware of the facts, he does so many explants, not just gel. I feel think he is a kind and compassionate Dr and I have heard he really does not like implants at all. thanks for clearing things up Patty! Guest guest
He sounds like how other plastic surgeons feel about saline too. That they are only the "safer" alternative, not that they are completely safe. All I know is what he emailed me , and I only posted as the subject was brought up by letters he wrote. ----- Original Message ----- From: naturalbeauty38 Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 8:19 AM Subject: Re: Dr. Melmed I figured he was aware of the facts, he does so many explants, not just gel. Guest guest
Kim, I have heard nothing but good things regarding Dr. Melmed both about his work and his understanding of implant illness. If he is the closest to you I would say "Go for it". Love, Anita Dr. Melmed I'm wondering how many have had your explant surgery with Dr.Melmed from Texas. Did you have a good result and recovery? I'm still researching who to have do my explant. Thanks guys! Kim
Guest guest
dr melmed explanted me march 21 of this year. I absolutely loved him-he totally understands it all. I had a really bad case of rupture-he said it was the worst he's seen in a long time. I did have swelling after a week and had to be drained again but that was because of all the trauma in my body. I go back to him today for my post op check up- i am well healed and will now start a good detox regimine. He's more moderate in the detox stuff but I'm going full blast beginning saturday- go for him -I love him. susan Dr. Melmed > I'm wondering how many have had your explant surgery with Dr.Melmed > from Texas.
