Guest guest
Hi, I posed this question in my first post along with some other stuff, but have not received any replies. My main concern on Lexapro is the weight gain. The Lexapro is working well to alleviate my symptoms of depression and anxiety but it seems to increase my appetite. However, I have been watching what I eat now and exercising at least 30 minutes a day and I am still gaining weight. To date I have gained 15 lbs since July. I was 155 now I am 170. This is a huge issue for me. Please, any input would be of help. Thank you.

I don't have the best diet, but in no way should I have gained this kind of weight. I actually decided to quit Lexapro because of it.. >
Guest guest
I took Celexa, the parent drug and main component in Lexapro. I gained over 50 lbs in about 14 months on this drug. I was hungry all the time and could never get full. Many people had that with Celexa. We called it, " Empty Stomach Syndrome " . Supposedly, when they created Lex by splitting the Celexa Isomer that was supposed to no longer be an issue with Lex. That has been proven to not be the case. For woman that gained weight on Celexa it seemed the weight was significant in the breast and belly area. Wonderful, huh? The breasts I could handle..the belly....sigh. It was horrible. I looked like I was about 8 months pregnant! Barbara Has anyone gained signifigant weight on Lexapro?
