Guest guest
Mark ,, congrats on doing your first shot... thats a big step!! and a scary one indeed but I have heard others say that the first one is the worst,, and it certainly was for me,, Pay attention to your body and do what it tells you too, rest when you need too, drink all that water and just eat a good healthy diet,, if you can,, I got to where everything looked and smelled right, but didnt taste right, lol,, but you do need enough protein if your liver is not decompensated and it will also help with nausea to get enough protein. also take your riba with a small amount of fat,, thats what the scherring RN told me cuz she said it makes the riba work better!!! hang on, you have started your treatment that hopefully will kick this dragon out of your body! We are here for you hon!!! hugs jaxmark_pbms <frazier080599@...> wrote: Hi all, just thought I'd post an update...First shot Friday night - I took Tylenol 2 hours before and again just after the shot. One ofmy hounds was nice enough to warm me up (he's like a furnace) when Iwent back to bed and I slept through the night okay.Felt achy and a little feverish/nauseous when I woke up Saturday butnot too bad, started the Copeg pills right away. Symptoms stayed more or less the same Saturday and I was a little moreachy on Sunday but still not terrible. Monday was probably the worseday so far and if that's as bad as it gets I feel fortunate...chillsand fever were worse but still not unbearable.I seem to react the first few hours after taking the pills withchills, fever and nausea. Guest guest
Mark, Your first shot sounds like mine. Cept I didn't have a warm hound to snuggle up to, had to make do with my hubbie. *smile* Yes, I would get a slight reaction with the pills, I found that if I ate something with my co-pegasy that I felt much better. Just something little a piece of toast with jelly or something similar. Good luck hon and keep us updated. Guest guest
Congrats on your first shot- its a toughie but now you get to count down! YEs, sounds very familiar, the aches and chills. The day after is typically the worst. Eating will become difficult (speaking from experience) - I became good friends with Stouffers mac n cheese - comfort food with protein. lol And yes, lots of water. Best of luck- I may be there with you starting TX again in a month or so.mark_pbms <frazier080599@...> wrote: Hi all, just thought I'd post an update...First shot Friday night - I took Tylenol 2 hours before and again just after the shot. Guest guest
Hi Mark , it sounds like you are handling the meds pretty good . I am on week 3 of tx myself so I can relate to you . But unfortunately I have to do daily shots and pills , so everyday is a new adventure for me . Drinking water is important but if your not eating well , try drinking sports drinks like gatorade to help with fluid replacement . I'm sure your doctor would agree with me on this one unless you have diabetes . When I started drinking gatorade I stopped losing so much weight and had less muscle cramping after the injections . I also was put on Zophran for nausea , which helps more than anything else I have tried . I take one zophran and two tylenol right when I take my pills everyday , it seems to be helping some . First few days Hi all, just thought I'd post an update...First shot Friday night - I took Tylenol 2 hours before and again just after the shot. Went tobed but couldn't sleep right away. Guest guest
I took 5 days on 10 mg, start having anxiety, it gave me anxiety, and then quit couples day, dr prescribed me 5 mg, only took one .. another anxiety.. And then to Effexor, didnt help, gave me diarhea and anxiety.. Still having anxiety now til since January.. first few days Hello all. I just started taking Lexapro and I have what sounds to be the general reaction. Nausea, uneasiness, anxiety, diarrhea, trouble sleeping. I feel a like I am on another planet - zoned out. How long would you say it lasts? I have read some of the posts on here and they don't sound very encouraging and since I just started taking it I am thinking of stopping right away. I haven't gotten past the first stages and I am already thinking or quitting. Any encouraging advice? Advice at all?
Guest guest
Im not sure if this will help, but I tried wellbutrin and celexa before I tried lexapro I had bad sides with both the others but none with lexapro so maybe you should try something else? I mean ,the last thing we need is side afects when we already feel horrible...right? with both the others I also tried to wait out the sides but ended up throwing them away and waisting time. FYI coming off of them is no fun either. This group is great for the good and the bad when I first read some of the stuff I was scared too. Just talk about it here and you'll get a lot of help no matter what you do. amandanallick <mandarin67@...> wrote: Hello all. Guest guest
I would try to give the lex a couple of weeks if you can - I got an increase in anxiety after about a week on 10mg - my anxiety seemed to peak around then and has been gradually reducing ever since - I was lucky in not really experiencing and side effects when I increased the dose to 20mg my depression seemed to worsen so I went back to 10mg but I guess everyone is different - after about 3 months on lex I have finally had a week without any major depression and my anxiety is nearly gone. its worth trying other ssri's of course - effexor seems to have good results for some people amandanallick <mandarin67@...> wrote: Hello all. Guest guest
Thank you for the insight. I started on a 20mg pill and i think it needs to be lowered to 10mg. I believe that is part of the problem. I have taken effexor before and was on it for a long time but it didn¡¦t address my anxiety like Lexapro should. It¡¦s always tough when starting a new med. it takes time for it to adjust. I was reading through all the comments on that message board and started to get discouraged. Thank you for the email! Have a good day ƒº > Hello all. I just started taking Lexapro and I have what sounds to be > the general reaction. Nausea, uneasiness, anxiety, diarrhea, trouble > sleeping.
