Guest guest
Hi Pete, I live in Boston and I am interested in speaking with you about this, but only on the condition that I would remain annonymous. Lizglobecorrespondent <globecorrespondent@...> wrote: Hello. My name is Pete DeMarco and I'm writing a story for the Boston Globe's health/science section about the debate over the FDA's possible approval of silicone implants. I've posted this message because I'm hoping to find women in the Boston area who are contemplating getting silicone implants if they are approved. I'm particularly looking for women who are confused about the issue: some doctors say silicone is fine, others abhor it, so it's hard to know just what to think.Unfortunately, I'm limited to speaking with women in the Boston area, Mass. residents, or possibly women who live in northern RI and southern NH. If I could ask, please e-mail me only if you are serious about the subject and have already been contemplating implants or have gone for a doctor's evaluation. My deadline is Nov. 15. Thank you, Pete(please respond to demarco@...)
Guest guest
Liz, I am feeling a little better since the surgery. I was so weak. I had vomiting as soon as I sat up from the stretcher . They gave me zofran in the IV, a motion sickness patch and another shot of zofran when I woke up and I still threw up and I had the most awful nausea you could imagine. The anestesia nurse from the hospital told me that it has to do with the hormones that nausea and vomitting occur when the breasts are operated on. But not everyone gets sick like this , some people are going out right after surgery. Ask for zofran , even though it didnt work for me it works for most people. The drains were just heavy and uncomfortable I had to sleep sitting up in a recliner I couldnt lay down. Taking the drains out didnt hurt but I had stitches that had to be taken out and that burned a little. But all and all I didnt take one pain pill ! I didnt have pain just discomfort . Don't be nervous about surgery if I made it through anyone can. I was so scared the day of my surgery and my pulse was so rapid they had to give me something to calm down I think it was called "versaid or versed" well after that shot I dont remember a thing! It was the best thing . It hasnt really affected me psycologically at all and I ordered those falsies from Fredericks they look real! You will be fine! Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I've been okay, but nervous about the surgery. It's scheduled for next Fri Nov. 21st. How are you feeling? Did you say you felt nausea from the anasthesia? I told Dr. Darrow that I got nauseous the first time and he said that they would give me some medication for it. I'm not sure whether it will work, but I hope it does. BTW do the drains hurt, or are they just annoying? Does it hurt to get them removed? This is going to be a big physical and psychological adjustment, but I'll get through it like you and all the other girls on this forum. LizBARBY4271@... wrote: Liz,How have you been? Guest guest
Hi Liz, Yes I ordered the full breast enhancers. They were expensive but they are worth it, I look the same size I was prior to explant with them on. If you are going to order them just ask them what size you should order to look like a D. How did everything turn out with your boyfriend? I know you were very upset a couple of weeks ago. If its something you dont want to talk about then I understand. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I am glad you are starting to feel better. I'll request that medication and just hope that it works. I got through first surgery and if this is easier like everyone says than it should be fine. I am mostly nervous about the psychological aspects of this surgery. That's great that it hasn't affected you psychologically, though! I've been excited to do this for a while and recently I suddenly started getting very nervous about it and wondering if I will be unhappy afterwards. I know it's probably just nerves. I ordered the small fredericks falsies; did you get the full size ones? I'm wondering if I should order the full size even though they are expensive because I don't want anyone at work to know I had the surgery. I will be going from a 36D to a 36B if everything turns out the way it should. Hopefully everything will turn out fine and I'll wonder why I did so much worrying.
