Weaning off or cutting back on Lexapro

Why do you want to do that?

Lexapro is not a drug like heroin or cocaine or many others. It is a medication

used to treat a

disease that many of us will live with forever. A disease caused by a

malfunction of our body

chemistry, like diabetes, or thyroid disorder. If you had an under or over

active thyroid,

would you be concerned about weaning off or cutting back? If you were diabetic

would you

want to wean yourself off insulin?

This whole thread makes those of us who suffer with depression sound like drug

addicts. I

don't like it.

Yes, there _are_ side effect. Live with them. Get over it. Grow up. Stop

whining. Find a

doctor who can fit you with the right size anti-depressant. These medications

are like shoes,

you have to find the ones that fit you. Not all brain chemistry is alike.
