Guest guest
Hi Pam, Aahh, Sjogren's. A frequent uninvited visitor to many implanted women. I believe Kim in New Jersey wrote most of all about her terrible eye problems, constantly red and inflamed. (Kim, did you leave us?) She was still implanted as well. Rogene knows all about this one too. I never had the dry eyes, although my eyes stung for a little bit once in awhile and felt tired. I am praying that this will all go away for you. It will be interesting to find out what condition your capsules are in. I know my breast implants felt hot and fevered at one time, and made strange squeaky noises (like rubbing a balloon! That squeaky noise!) I believe there was infection present. One of the girls here in Vegas said when she was opened up, her implants were sitting in a sea of green ooze. Not a pretty picture. I think 's implants were also a goopy mess. It could be that you have some infection in there? Hopefully if that is the case, once you are explanted, you can attack that problem (which I would recommend anyway, just to be on the safe side. I think we should all assume we are fighting bacteria, fungus or viruses of some sort) and your healing will come. It's just me again...another weird thing I've had over the last several years is what seems to be recurring eye infections. Mostly in my right eye. I remember now that it started shortly after getting the implants. I thought I had an eye infection and already had drops so I used them and it seemed to go away. Then it came back again and again. I had Lasik eye surgery in 1998 (the year before the implants) so I blamed it on that. Lately the "infections" come more and more regularly and whether I use medicine or not, it goes away. I've changed make-up, gone without make-up, I've tried everything. I constantly feel like I have goop in my right eye. Has anyone else had that happen? I've also been diagnosed with Sjogren's due to dry eyes and dry mouth which I did not have before the Lasik otherwise they would not have done the surgery. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.Pam
Guest guest
Sjorgren oh yeah, it is very common in implant women, but it can get better. I suggest however, don't bother checking labs till at least 6 months post explant, It only served to upset me when they were so high 8 weeks after explant, but my Dr explained to me that surgery can really stir up the ANA in even people that never had a problem with it. It is common, so wait till your body has simmered down, then check the labs, for me after 6 months they were down to borderling positive, after 1 year they were negative and have remained that way. Now I am at the point where I don't even think about it anymore, since I don't have any symptoms I don't want to get stuck all the time HEE HEE! > Hi Pam, > Aahh, Sjogren's. Guest guest
Hi Pam, I'm just wondering if your doctor ever labled your eye infections as " iritis " ? If he did use this term, my eye doctor told me that have of his patients that come in with " iritis " also have an autoimmune disease; thus he tells them to get their blood tested. I had " iritis " once after being implanted, and I was such a textbook case for the autoimmune disease connection that he called his nurses in there to take a look. Not encouraging, as I frequently feel like a guinea pig/science experiement whenever I go to the doctor I guess it's the whole " practicing medicine " thing that I've been realizing over the past year or so. I have to say, I liked it much better when I thought that doctors were next to God and could cure anything. I mean, now if I get sick I'm like, " Great....just hope God wants me to live 'cause these guys sure won't help anything. " Oh, a little off subject but just some fyi (and this is not meant to scare you at all!)....I was reading a testimony of some silicone-gel survivors at an FDA hearing and this lady was saying that silicone was gushing out of her eyes. A little extreme, but I don't think it's completely rare. Our eyes are just another way that toxins can be excreted. Don't know if any of this helped..... Kacey > Hi Pam, > Aahh, Sjogren's.
