Also, request that the explanting doctor NOT put them in a fixative as this kills the bacteria/fungi that may be present, and can make detecting the same more difficult. Until we see what is going to happen here, you may want to consult with a lawyer (could even just call one, some might tell you for free) from your state just to make sure you do not miss any important deadlines that might apply to your case.
