VERY dissapointed in Lexapro

I was put on Lexapro 10 and then 20 mgs months ago after an entire

year of major depression. Yes, I was not as deeply in the hole I was

in before I started it. But It also took away any excitement and all

motivation. I was depressed but occasionally it lifeted briefly.

When I went back to my doc, he told me it was more for my anxiety. (It

did help that) but he also told me it was a " downer " . How nice of him

to put an already depressed person on a downer. Why did he not put me

on some other antidepressant and or anxiety meds without the effect of

bringing me down? I am on nothing now.
