Guest guest
Iggy I am really concerned about your surgery. I was pretty sad to hear that he is not going to do a capsulectomy. I know that you have been extremely ill, your symptoms sound just like mine, some of the worse ones I believe. Anyhow, I just want to make sure you understand that without removing those capsules your health may not improve. I don't want to scare you, but your PS is totally mistaken telling you that those capsules are just going to be disolved by your body. THis is totally untrue and unacceptable. Those capsules will be full of toxic crap from the implants. I am not sure what kind you have if they are smooth, textured or what, but either way the fact is that those capsules need to come out. If the implants are textured its worse but even smooth, if your sick, they can be very very toxic. Patty has some articles I believe in the files section about retained capsules and from experience in talking with others I happen to know that it is not a good idea to leave capsules behind. This is often such a big reason why most of us did not return to our original PS for explant. Even though we often had to travel and spend allot more money. Most of us realized after talking with other women, that we had to go to a Dr who knows the truth about implants and illness. I had a friend in NYC who got implants and got sick right away and went back to her implanting PS, who exlanted her after only 3 months, my friend assumed that it would be ok to leave the capsules, after all they were smooth shelled and she only had them for 3 months, but she was not getting better after explant. In fact she was doing terribly! She ended up going to see Dr Feng in Ohio and sure enough had to have a second operation because she was full of black rotting capules. She has been very very slow to heal and she believes it was due to her body having to fight the toxic crap left behind in her body from her first surgeon. At any rate Iggy, I really feel bad but I cannot stress to you enough about this. I would really try to talk to your PS and explain to him that you want this explant done with a complete capsulectomy. I would get it in writting from him that he will do it. Just explain and tell him you don't agree with him and that it is your body and this is what you want done. If your not comfortable telling him this, maybe you need to consult with a different ps. I am not sure where you are, but there is a list of recomended ones on this site. Please please dear friend, dont' take any risks with your health! You want to get well and your going to need to make sure things get done right with this explant. It is basically your bigges chance of getting better. I hope you will do this Iggy, for the sake of your health. Hugs
Guest guest
Hi Iggy, I'm with . You've got to have a capsulectomy! It's sooo important. Our bodies do not process silicone, meaning if it is not removed....IT STAYS INSIDE AND DOES DAMAGE. I'm doing chelation treatments (3 hr. long IV's that attract toxins and flush them out through my kidneys) to try and get out the remaining silicone and toxins. But it's so important to take out the " big pieces " surgically. Our bodies just can't process the toxin. I have rheumatoid arthritis and extreme fatigue (and I could go on and on) and it's so important to give my body a fighting chance as my smooth saline breast implants have tried to destroy me. And it's especially bad to leave the capsules in for those of us who have really bad symptoms. I just wanted to give you another voice of encouragement. Best of luck with everything, Kacey > Iggy I am really concerned about your surgery. I was pretty sad to > hear that he is not going to do a capsulectomy.
