Guest guest
I am new here. Been lurking for a while. I was born deaf in my right ear. Left ear was fine until I turned 27 years old. Now 10 years later, I the left ear is gone. Aid not longer helps. I have LVAS with secondary Meniere's disease. I am having a really hard time dealing with this being deaf. I have two girls 6 and 8 and am married. I do work full-time. I live in a hearing world and want to stay in a hearing world. Does anyone have any advise on how to handle this? Guest guest
Hello, , You are much like many of us, and we all understand. Deaf is NOT fun! :op Please take the advice of others and go to a certified cochlear implant center. If you let us know where you live we can help you find the nearest one to you. Your insurance should cover consultations and testing to see if you qualify for a CI. You do NOT have to go through with it, but to know whether or not it's a possibility for you is great info to have. Then you can decide if and WHEN you want to go with it. The more you read here, the more I think you'll be asking us to pray that you qualify. I missed a LOT while my kids were growing up, and if I could've had this done years ago it would've saved a lot of heartache. Good luck! Jackie ) **************Gas prices getting you down?
