Guest guest
Hiya, Dan/Bill Adro is one of the " bells and whistles " programs of the Freedom (and other processors). What it is supposed to do is suppress loud sounds as they come. For instance, you are hearing fine - until you turn the water on to wash dishes. (You DO that, right? LOL) In a nanosecond or so - you will notice the sound is now a bit softer. The processor has automatically cut the sounds down for you. Same in city traffic - loud outside noises cut down and in noisy restaurants. Some people love this addition, others hate it. It might be something for you to try if it isn't already programmed (mapped) in by your audioologist (audi). As far as tinnitus, I'm so sorry but, like the fountain of youth, a cure is unobtainable! LOL The best you can do is learn to ignore it in a way that eventually it will fade into the background and not be as exasperating. I've suffered with severe tinnitus all of my life -and the implant did not help. I do know some who have gotten relief with the implant, but it doesn't for everyone. Just remember that when you are in public NOT to say, " I hear voices in my head! " LOL Bill - the four programs are explained in your booklet that came with your processor. If you've misplaced that, check out the Cochlear Community (assuming that's what you have) and it should be in there somewhere. I can't do links here (computer illiterate, sorry), but hope this helps. , Suzanne, and others who answered - thanks so much.
