Re: Taking a break to get some perspective

8 days is NOTHING. Many of us didn't even get our implants turned on for

a MONTH after surgery. Patience, practice and perseverence, with an

occasional PPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTT(razberry) is what it takes.

If it takes 3 months, you're gonna be 3 months older then anyway. If it

takes 6 months, same thing. This is a JOURNEY, not a race.

On Tuesday it will be a week since my CI was activated. Today it is 8

days since surgery. I've been frustrated that I'm not going at the speed

I think I should. Apparently patience is NOT my middle name. All I have

is " noise " . So today I took a break and went to the ski hill. I haven't

skied for several weeks so it was so enjoyable to be back on the hill.

(I've been a ski patroller for over 30 years so you know I'm addicted to

it!) It really helped to also connect with concerned people. I have a

better attitude now and hope that my brain will remember just what those

sounds are...sooner than later!
