2. Netflix Collaboration Now Public

We're proud to be able to announce that we have been--and are right this

minute--working with Netflix to caption and subtitle movies and TV shows to

watch instantly via their service. Here's a link to Netflix's blog posting

on the topic:

http://blog.netflix.com/2011/02/30-of-netflix-streaming-content-has.html

We have already begun talking with them about offering video description.

3. (For All the) Public Broadcasting

Because a PBS affiliate developed MoPix systems, and captions and describes

nearly all the films now seen in theaters around the US and in Canada, it

seems appropriate to highlight this blog post about the organization's

long-term commitment to media accessibility. Learn about contributions you

may find surprising at this site:

4. Captions and Description for Digital Cinema

Currently Focus Features, Relativity Entertainment, Summit Entertainment,

Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox Films, Walt Disney

Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures all provide closed captioned digital

cinema packages.

When a studio offers a closed captioned digital cinema package for the films

it releases, we will indicate such on the www.mopix.org site, and add this

line to the listing in our weekly update:

#cc dcp#

Twentieth Century Fox Films, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Walt Disney Studios

provide both captioned and audio described digital cinema packages for most

of their releases. When a studio provides both closed captioning and audio

description in a digital cinema package, we will indicate such on the MoPix

site and in our weekly update with:

* WGBH has developed a conversion process to enable select Paramount films

to be available via Rear Window Captioning systems. Some of these titles

will also be available with descriptions. The latter will be designated

" desc " vs. DVS in our updates to indicate availability of that

feature, though WGBH did not create those descriptions.
