Guest guest
this is too hard to resist. If you're Canadian (or any other non-USA first world country), it is free. I am Canadian and my only cost will be parking for my car during each appointment. Before anyone tries to reply with non-informed comments about huge waits, the real facts are as follows: Had my final appointment in the elegibility process on Dec 15, 2010. Surgery tomorrow Jan 14, 2011. Never dealt with anyone other than my own medical team to get approved. I am told the actual real cost to the government is approxiately $60,000. This seems to be accurate with the statistics that show Americans pay 70% more for the same health care facilites as Canadians. > > This is probably covered here somewhere but I'm having a hard time navigating around here. The CI would be for Menieres - one ear is gone, the other ear is losing hearing. We don't have health insurance unfortunately so I'm wondering what the general cost of CI is. >
Guest guest
Lawrence, I was told by another Canadian that it depends on which Provence you are in regarding how long you might have to wait because of the limitations on how many implants are allowed to be done. Whereas you got approved to have it done right away, others have been told up to 3 years down the line. Here in the good old USA, I was scheduled soon after evaluation and the only cost for the whole procedure was a $25 copay. They also comped me on the parking so I didn't have to pay that either. Guest guest
Dear CI users., I think the insurance company you belong to has the top to major decision of who they receive the ok by doctors. Michele D'Esposito - Florida
Guest guest
Hi there " hanging " . I tried to send you an email with a schedule showing my own implant costs but it came back saying your address wasn't valid. In short, I was billed $118k for my surgery but all the medical providers collectively accepted $39K as payment in full (the rate negotiated by my insurance). I don't see why you couldn't negotiate directly yourself for a better deal. Good luck. Maggie > > This is probably covered here somewhere but I'm having a hard time navigating around here.
