Guest guest
Dear Group, My first processor was the 3G 24, in Dec.2004,provided by Medicare. In Sept.2006, out of my pocket,I got the Freedom. At this point I no longer have the 3G 24,which I sent to Cochlear,as a trade in.Am I not eligible to get the Nucleus 5,even though I do not have the original processor?I'm assuming that since Medicare was not involved in my acquiring the Freedom,I should not have any problems. Many thanks!! Guest guest
Moses, If you are implanted with the Nucleuscontour 24 Contour 3G, then I think that you will be qualified to be fitted with the Nucleus 5, as I am. Best thing to do is to talk to Cochlear. You don't need a trade in, but it does help as a discount. Hope this helps...Barry in Pa. > > > > > > > > > Dear Group, > > > > Cochlear has just notified me that their Nucleus 5 is now > > available for my nucleuscontour 3G 24 (CP810 & CR110). Guest guest
Sorry, I did not make myself clear. I meant that should I be eligible thru Medicare? Guest guest
Moses, If the current processor (3G) is no longer supported, which it is not as of end of year 2010, then Medicare should cover the cost of the new processor. Of course you are responsible for the 20%. Quote of the nanosecond... Guest guest
, As far as I can find out, Cochlear has no idea what-so-ever when they will stop repairing the Nucleuscontour 24 3G, and as long as this happens, then people like myself cannot qualify for insurance coverage for the Nuke 5 upgrade. So, do you have any idea when Cochlear will stop repairing the Nuke 24? Thanks...Barry in Pa. > >> > > >> > > > >> > > > >> > > > >> > > Dear Group, > >> > > > >> > > Cochlear has just notified me that their Nucleus 5 is now > >> > > available for my nucleuscontour 3G 24 (CP810 & CR110).
