Guest guest
Its been six weeks since my CI surgery as well. Activation was a month ago. Today I took my first hearing test and scored 85 % Comprehension and 55% comprehension in a noisy background. It is going really well and I feel blessed. This is after 30 years of being deaf. It is truly amazing. Tom DIllon From: juin29@... Date: Mon, 7 Feb 2011 18:36:00 -0800 Subject: Nucleus 5 Hi and good luck to Bob and all who are having surgery this month. I had my N5 surgery on Dec. 22 2010 and not a bit over six weeks and still going to my Audiologist on a weekly basis and it is getting better and better. I can hear some words and music. can tell the difference in voices now, which could not with my 21 year old N22 CI in my left ear. I have been deaf for 60 years in the right ear therefore my Audi is working with me and is amazed that I am understanding words and some sentences as she covers her face and I have to repeat what she said and so patience is the word and I am sure you all will have great success with the N5 implant. here in snowy and icy Miissour

Guest guest
It twists out the same as an ordinary flourescent tube, . It will turn in 1 direction only, then 1/4 turn will allow it to be pulled out. Picture a tube with 2 pins on each end. Bob ..... Guest guest
A bit of clarification here: The UV germicidal lamp is included in the Global and Professional models only - not in the Zephyr, which is the model reccomended by Cochlear for the N5 processor. The only reason to remove the lamp in the Global and Professional models is with the N5 processor. Bob ......

Guest guest
, This is the other . Its easy. Open the lid and twist it either way a quarter turn and it will literally fall out, Then its just a matter of finding a safe place to store it. Quote of the nanosecond... Guest guest
Webdy, Since its glass, and probably fragile, I would look for a small box that is sturdy and pack it in there like you were to ship it. Now that you have the N5 you might as well forget where you put it. LOL On the other hand perhaps you could get the Zepher and sell the Global one. Quote of the nanosecond... Guest guest
I also sweat profusely and have been using the Dry & Store for over 2 years with my Oticon BTE HA. The Dry & Store is probably helpful for minimal perspiration, but I find that when the HA's are not covered with some protective material, they are dead in the water within15 minutes of the time I start sweating. Hence, I would suggest that the external CI apparatus be completely covered with one of the materials being offered by various third party vendors. That is what I plan to do if and when I become a CI recipient. Joe ps: My sweating condition is called " Hyperhidrosis " [search Google for additional information] On 6/26/2011 6:11 PM, hlaasdan wrote: > > > > Rae, > > You may want to get a Dry n Store.
