Hearing Loss Association of Los Angeles April Meeting: All meetings are

captioned!

April 23rd Meeting topic: TINNITUS PRESENTATION - MEETING BEGINS AT 9:55 AM

Audiologist Reavis joins us to discuss her research at UC Irvine's

Tinnitus Center. Due to scheduling conflicts, she must leave by 11am, so

will start her presentation no later than 10am. PLEASE ARRIVE BY 9:55 AM!

After the break, we'll hear a brief announcement from a special guest, Jeff

Grama, a wonderful audiologist whose clients include many HLA-LA members.

Also, Toni Barrient, recently retired from HLAA, will discuss an exciting

captioned phone product, Caption Call, and have demos available during the

latter part of the meeting.

Hope to see you there... Make sure to show up for the meeting hungry,

there¹s ALWAYS plenty of food!

time.

Hearing Loss Association of Los Angeles HLA-LA, was founded in September

2004 by a group of adults with hearing loss. The purpose of this group is to

bring support and understanding to all people who live with a hearing loss

(whether it is mild to severe) and their family and friends. HLA-LA members

communicate by lip reading, writing signs, sign language or the use of a

real time captionist. Membership is free.

On the Job with Hearing Loss

A full day workshop offering top tools and strategies

for managing workplace challenges

this topic at both the local and national level. Her own moderate to severe

hearing loss has allowed her to be a role model for those impacted by

hearing loss. A 20 year member of the Hearing Loss Association of America,

has had many opportunities to hear what others are looking for when

faced with employment challenges.

Intended audience and course format:

€ Lecture, role playing, and small group exercises

€ Topics include strategies, assistive technologies, resources, and

information to help navigate through the working world with a hearing loss
