I was implanted in my right ear in 2002. N 24C.

I have some residual hearing in my left ear which helps me a lot on the

telephone. I use the 14 inch cord so that I can wear my processor on my left

ear and get sound from the processor and the small amount of natural

hearing on that side. Also I can switch my processor from ear to ear as

necessary.

I am hoping to get an upgrade to the N5 but my insurance is stalling

again... sigh! After promising me that I would get the upgrade when it became

available, now Kaiser say that they won't give me the upgrade until Cochlear

say that the 3G is obsolete. I have read here that I should be eligible

for an upgrade since my 3G is now almost nine years old, and I am struggling

more and more to hear in social situations and I am isolating more than is

good for me.

I would love to hear input from anyone on this. Using my email address or

this list.

Thanks........
