Guest guest
Hello denise, Funny enough I have had the cochlear nucleus 5 for a little over * weeks now and have had my 2ns appointment last week. At mt last appointment I was given the remote and my audie has indeed put 4 programmes on it but I am still using programme 1 at the moment as I am comfortable for this programme and just curious, never knew You paid for appointments in the USA? I heard 2 new never before sounds yesterday. Cutlery clinging And another one so it is doing the job for me! xx Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device unlocking Hi Trish, there actually is a way to unlock your program. The lock is meant for children, so they don't change the settings. It should be in your user's manual, or e mail the audi. It was mostly likely an accident. Can you switch to one of the other programs? And change that one? The sensitivity shows how wide of an area you are hearing from. The higher the number, the larger area. I keep mine about 3 or 4, because I don't need to hear the neighbor's dog barking, or traffice way up 2 blocks away. Had to convince my audi that I didn't need it that high. If you can't unlock it by yourself, then get an appt with the audi, and make sure you are NOT CHARGED FOR IT, because the program is something you can't use. Tell her/him right up front that you are not paying for this mapping session, since she/he put a lock on the program. Just the person I wanted to talk to. I've had the N5 upgrade for 4 weeks now. I found out yesterday, when a CI friend came over to look at my remote, that my audi has my sensitivity at12 and the programm is locked, so I can't change it. My friend and I have the same audi and his can be changed, he was only on 6 and he lowered it to 4. what does the number mean? I've always had a problem with backiground noise, so I'm totally astounded and ticked off at my audi. Guest guest
Oh yes, we pay for appointments to get our programs changed. Especially after the first few. Those are probably included in the cost of the implant. But my place charges something like $420 to change a program on an implant. After the hospitalization/insurance pays what they deem to be " reasonable, customary and ordinary " which is way much lower, then you get to pay whatever deductible you have. You'll be amazed at the new sounds you hear. And once you identify what they are, you can put them in the area of your brain for " sounds that can be ignored safely " just like hearing folks do. Thanks for sharing. Hello denise, Funny enough I have had the cochlear nucleus 5 for a little over * weeks now and have had my 2ns appointment last week. Guest guest
, You did not say the programs are not on the processor. However, you did say, twice this week, that your audi put 4 programs on your remote. Its very important to present accurate information so as not to confuse people. Quote of the nanosecond... Guest guest
For the N5 program buttons are on both the processors & remote, so aren't the programs on both?
Guest guest
The program CONTROLS are on both. But obviously rhe actual controls exist on the processor as you can control the processor without the remote control. Guest guest
Don't feel bad about that. I frequently say battery when I mean magnet. But I'm a natural blonde, so people expect this. Programs ARE stored in the processor. The remote can modify the programs, by adjusting volume and sensitivity. But the little part of the processor above the battery compartment holds all the information about the programs. Amazing. ____________________________________________________________ Groupon & #8482 Official Site 1 ridiculously huge coupon a day.
