Guest guest
This is why I HATE Hep C so much. My Daryl was in the same situation, too far decompensated at initial diagnosis to even consider doing treatment. Looking back now, we were in paliative care mode right from the get go. This disease is something one should never dismiss or take lightly. Luv anne RE: Update... Guest guest
Tim, I know you directed this to Jackie but I just had to reply with a HUGE YES, YES, YES!!! YES everyone should treat as soon as is possible. The longer you put it off, the more damage this DAMNED disease can do and one can become decompensated so silently and so quickly it's frightening. Guest guest
Tim Well I could take the 5th on this, but that wouldnt help anyone... do I think everyone should do todays treatment? NOPE.. I think that IF your disease IS progressing quickly as revealed by the biopsy GRADE, then yes you should do tx,, but if you have a very low grade, say grade 0 or 1, then I might not decide to do tx unless everything in my life is at a stable place,, there are lots of factors in deciding whether or not to do standard tx.. I know lots of others who have had this disease for 30 years or more and have no damage,, they do not want to do tx and I dont blame them,, age is another factor,, if you are 70 and have no damage, why do this treatment and make yourself sick for a year if you have no activity in virus? That being said,, MOST people should do tx, especially if they have a grade above 1 because that means that the virus is munching on the liver... and the earlier you do treatment if you are progressing, the better.. there is NO ONE answer,, in my opinion... I know most ppl say yes, everyone should do tx,, but if your life is not in a stable place and you could not manage if you lost your job and have no damage and its not progressing quickly,, well maybe waiting for a better time is beneficial,, everyone MUST answer for themselves! Guest guest
Jackie - great job of answering this difficult question. I know that I waited 12 years before treating. It was the right choice for me and my life at the time. My first biopsy showed very minimal changes and the success of treatment for 1a's was extremely low. During that time I continued to have my health monitored - blood work every 6 months (occassionally more often if there were other issues with my health) and a biopsy every three years and my primary care physician and hepatologist had on-going contact. I knew last year that the time was here for me to treat but it still wasn't an easy choice for me. Even in the week before starting, I felt myself hedging backwards a bit - but at some point made up my mind to let go and trust my medical team and the support group that I have here. karen > jackie,do you think{im not trying to start you up} that everyone should treat? >
Guest guest
I just had a couple of thoughts while I read your post. Our experience has been the same - chemicals didnt work - bombs made them 100x worse. Frightening! I dont have an article link but I have read that what happens is the bleach etc etc wears down OUR immune systems leaving our bodies even less capable of waging a continual fight.... and it didnt do anything for our mites its almost like they thrived off of it! (In saying that I did use windex with success but I cant tolerate the smell of it now, I wonder if Hydrogen peroxide would have helped just as much and boy I wish I had tried the epsome salt!) The other part of your post that stood out to me was that your grandmother uses a lotion with menthol in it! Ray another poster who got rid of this, used listerine to wash off the crawlies - my family did this too... these 'things' dont like menthol. Ray wasnt sure if it actually killed them, and I'm not sure either - but it was enough to get them off and down the drain.. And perhaps enough to keep them away from your grandmother. Towards the end of all this I did take the menthol idea to the next level - I applied vicks vapor rub all over, I am amazed that I didnt get hypothermia! I am not recommending it as it was pure torture! In our experience the 'usual' things you would expect to win a mite battle with - DID NOT DO ONE LITTLE BIT OF GOOD - high heat worked, listerine worked, parasite cleanses worked, change of diet worked. So very very strange!!!

Guest guest
that sounds hopeful, but even if you could walk away from all your possessions into a clean environment, if you're like me, you'd have mites crawling out of your skin. yeah, i just came back from college to my parents' place, hoping to escape them. i've been on the ivermectin, i've been baking everything, and it seems that these things are now crawling out of my skin (and butt, too). no joke. there's nowhere I can run, because I am infested. kinda miserable to infest the bed you grew up in. on some level, i hope this thing becomes an epidemic, so that folks like us won't be the such a minority, and we'll find some liveable solutions. > > Hi everyone. Guest guest
Just wanted to tell you if your bombs were mostly permethrins they will not kill the mites. They are practically immune to them now. We had much better luck with windex-d and or witch hazel with a few drops of essential pine oil in it. We sprayed beds and around furniture daily with one of these mixes and it really thinned them out although did not completely eliminate them. Joan Re: Update... Guest guest
heres the link to the parasite cleanse http://www.healthwalk.com/health-walk-product.aspx?ID=8 it goes by a different name now Revoxil. When I used it it was called paraclear its produced by the company health walk. Som, another poster on here used it too with good success. I noticed a significant improvement with in the first week of its use. z

Mel uses it that often too I think....dont you Mel? We used the horse paste eventually too. After our doc didnt want to give us more stromectal.... Guest guest
Lucy Yes the ivermectin definately did help! No I did not notice a difference between taking the stromectal from the doctor and using the ivermectin horse paste. That was our experience, but I have heard others say the stromectal is better.... I talked to a vet, who was very understanding and interested in this - her thought was that both would do the job. How is your ozone generator? Are you still seeing improvement with it? You should feel reassured if you are seeing any level of improvement. You asked if we are over this hell. I really hope so! Right now we are picking up the pieces of our old life - I do feel normal again. But I am still drawing out small fibers from my skin using a product that is recommended for morgellons sufferers. SO the mite/parasite battle seems over, but how it came about that we got this in the first place may not be.. If what this has been is related to morgellons then (according to the products I am using) the debree will keep being drawn out for 6-8 months. take care lucy. Guest guest
Since we don't know if we have the same type of "thing" on our skin it still would be worth the effort in my opinion to try the Roach Prufe. One reason to try it is once it's down you don't have to vacuum. Put it down really thick and leave it down for at least 8 weeks and see if it works in your situation. This powder has an excellent track record for killing anything that crawls through it. I'm wishing you all the luck in the world in you fight on this "thing". Rita Update... Hi everyone. I am trying to be more active in the group, despite spotty computer access (my laptop is one big bug brick). I've been fighting the mites for nine months now and like most of you have been through hell and back quite a lot.I got sick over the holidays and the bugs severely infested my head (which I shave frequently). They even dance around and slither in a smoothly shaved head. I'm doing Head & Shoulders for 5 minutes in the bath, spraying Kleen Green, and using Tinactin in my ears, but it's only about 50% manageable. Any ideas? Other things I'm doing right now:Mopping w/ borax, leaving a lot on the floorSpraying bed and car with Windex and/or 91% alcoholKeeping everything bagged/in freezer (or outside when it's below zero)Full body scrubs with Head & ShouldersSuave hand cream mixed with clove and tea tree oil (helps a lot!)Soaking feet/hands in borax water or apple cider vinegarWashing clothes with ammonia or bleachKeeping all the hair shaved from my body (this helps TONS) but I look pretty freakish :/Internally:Bactrim (suggested on Avianweb)Sporanox (about to start this at 200mg / day x 60 days)EchniaciaBlack CohoshCayenne (lots)BufferPHAtivan (nerves)Vitamin D3MultivitaminsVit. C (1gm)Natural cellular defense Tried a couple parasite cleanses, going to try Parasitin next1 gallon lemon waterSparse no sugar, no white flour diet. (lost over 100 pounds now)I don't know if the Bactrim (or the BufferPH) is doing its magics, but I felt a pretty big lull in activity since I started them. I'd like any feedback. My parents still have this and my mom is doing very badly. They have a big house and most of it is walled off in pastic, but it's still too much for conventional cleaning.thanks - and may you all find peaceIan
Guest guest
Ian do you know what type of mite it is?From: Ian <tenchantre@...>Subject: Update...bird mites Date: Friday, January 23, 2009, 7:32 PM Hi everyone. I am trying to be more active in the group, despite spotty computer access (my laptop is one big bug brick). I've been fighting the mites for nine months now and like most of you have been through hell and back quite a lot. I got sick over the holidays and the bugs severely infested my head (which I shave frequently). They even dance around and slither in a smoothly shaved head. Guest guest
No, I don't know what kind of mite it is. I have been pretty lax in my research since August, when I gave up on using a computer. I'm getting back in gear but -- as you all must know, this snowballs like crazy. I have a microscope and have examined a lot of little crescent-shaped stuff that comes out of my skin, and fuzz balls on my head, and white and black specks my mother finds, and a few other things. They all seem to be by-products of the mite. For a long time I figured I had Morgellon's and was preparing to die (by my own hand). After reading more about bird and rat mites, I'm more convinced that we are just dealing with a mite. (I don't have Lyme, open sores, fatigue. I do find weird cotton balls on me, though, and chunks of white goo with threads throughout, but I'm not sure that isn't normal, either.) How do I trap the mite, and find it, so I can microscope it? I have a friendly entomologist who will ID it if I can just find it. (Doctor's biopsies and skin scrapings revealed nothing.) Thank you. Guest guest
Yes, I know what kind of insect it is. The post on www.e-bug.net/forum tells it all. If you scroll thru all the spam until you get to 11/26/08, there you will find a post by Greg called " Invisible to the naked eye " . I agree with him 100% on what this condition is.
