Guest guest
Fantastic Lawrence... I have my first activation appointment next week, MedEl like you. Hope that it goes as well as yours did. Gail
Guest guest
Carol, You are BRILLIANT!! The wig tape is perfect. All of $5 for a roll that will last at least a year. Thanks. > > How wonderful is that Lawrence? > Re the processor not sitting well.... perhaps there is still some swelling.... maybe you could try some wig tape to hold the processor on better..... that is a double sided tape. That way you won't have to wear that ear mold.... just a thought. > Happy Hearing! > Carol > Boca Raton, FL > Cochlear America Nucleus 24C - left ear - Sprint 12/11/01 then 3G then upgraded to Freedom on 2/19/08 > Cochlear America Freedom right ear -implanted 3/01/06 - activated
Guest guest
Regina, I am finding the MT setting works great for me. That way the telecoil flips in when I put a phone or cell phone to my actual ear yet I can still hear my voice through the CI mike without talking loud. This CI is beyond belief. I have already let my surgeon know I want bilateral this year. I have a question for Med-El bilateral functioning. With the T-coil in use, can the 2 CI's be set to put the phone sound into both if you want? When they did your mapping (even at this point) have they turned volume on to all of the frequency bars on their PC? > > Hi Lawrence > > Glad to here you did so well ! Guest guest
That's great the T-coil works so well for you. I have trouble with static and interference due to florescent lights in my home and office. To answer your question about bilateral, MT setting and the phone. It's very similar to regular hearing when you use MT. If you place the phone receiver to your ear you hear from that ear.Place to other ear you hear from that ear, It's not like direct connect where you hear in both ears at the same time. For direct connect I use a a splitter that plugs into the direct connection wires of both CI's and then plug into the headset jack of the phone. So the sound is received in both ears simultaneously. I have had my first CI a little over a year (activated Dec 09) and the second for about 6 months (activated July 10). Different electrodes have different frequencies I can tolerate. In both ears I can tolerate higher volume levels at the low frequency range and need lower volume at the higher frequencies. I had difficulty with lightheadedness and an eye twitch when the volume was too loud at the higher frequency I did notice a big difference in tolerance levels between mappings. I could tolerate more volume as time went on. Best of luck to you! I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about Medel or bilateral hearing Regina ________________________________ From: Lawrence <lawrencerlevin@...> Sent: Thu, February 17, 2011 6:00:45 PM Subject: Re: WOW Regina, I am finding the MT setting works great for me.
