Guest guest
Hey girls how is everyone doing? I just got back on line following my fun weekend in Alberta Canada and then my foot procedure on Monday. Thought I would pop in but gosh, so many posts to go through anyhow, the anesthesia kicked my butt pretty good, which was good cause from what I know about the procedure done on my feet you want to be out and asleep for it. They explained it as the equivelent of having the bottoms (heels) wacked with a hammer OUCH! hee hee anyhow, it is going well, oh and my infection in my arm is all healed up nicely too. We had a blast in Canada, we traveled in a bus, with the hockey kids ages 15-17 and some parents, my hubby is team manager, and it was so much fun! Believe it or not, anyhow the boys kicked some butt up there, they won all their games by huge amounts of goals, and if you all know anything about hockey beating Canadians is quite a big deal for these kids. The team this year is awesome, they are 8-1 meaning they only have lost one game. The way they do the hockey thing here in Idaho actually it is the IHL(intermountain hockey leaque) because we only have 3 teams in Idaho we travel all over, mostly Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Canada. Anyhow it is fun fun fun! I love winter, because this hockey stuff keeps us having tons of family time and traveling to the backroads of the Northwest! This is just another thing I could not do if I was still implanted, so girls, explants are a blessing! TRUST ME! I am feeling still a little dopey from the drugs they gave me yesterday though, and having a hard time getting motivated to study and i have finals next week, yikes! But I am trying to get up, got my tripple shot latte here so maybe that will help hee hee. Anyhow the ossa tron is a new treatment for chronic plantar fascitis(heel pain) and it is a really succesful treatment, there is no actual cutting or incision, and it is supposed to cure the pain slowly, as it heals the pain goes away. It delivers a shock wave to the area, which is the part they knock you out for, the risks are nill, it may not cure the pain completely but the odds are good and I was tired of the pain back and forth so I went for it! Pray that over the next 3 months my heels will heal, and be normal again. Everyone I know thinks i am nuts but I would some day love to be able to job again, crazy but yeah it is my fantasy! I am nuts I guess! Anyhow right now I am hobbling around and quite the site! LOL. I would have to say that I think I was more awake and alert after my explant than this prodecure, I think they gave me stronger drugs or something, I don't know, maybe not, but I def am dopey still. I don't know, your feet are really a funky part of your body to hurt ya know! Anyhow, that is about all I wanted to update if anyone is interested. I also want to see how this procedure helps and if others need info they too can find out about having this done. I hope all the girls getting surgery this week are doing good! Do we have more than Pam or just Pam? Anyhow thanks for listening to me, hugs

Guest guest
Thanks , we did have a lot of fun in Canada. Anyhow, today is the first day that I am up and around and feeling somwhat better, the next few weeks should be interesting. The treatment I had is supposed to be really succesful on patients who had the type of pain I had, and in the place I had it. Mostly in the back of the heel, esp where the tendon inserts into the bone. Anyhow, we shall see. Gosh if it was not for this I would be 100% at this point. That is fabulous.
