Guest guest
I think you're talking about connecting the stereo to the N5 via DAI ( Direct Audio Input) via the Personal Audio Cable. If so, a DAI connection is always theoretically superior to that with headphones. However, if you have viable hearing in the other ear - aided or otherwise - then trading bilateral listening via headphones- in stereo - for the single sided mono via DAI likely be disappointing. In any case, be sure to use the Mains Isolation Cable in series with the Personal Audio Cable for processor protection. Bob ....... Guest guest
Hi Bob!! Long time no hear!! Thanks for the info. Since I do not hear with one ear, then my best bet is to use the Cochlear N5 coil,in series with mains isolation cable, which I should get at Radio Shack. As for the long cord with 1/4 " jack input into the stereo,I have that. Thanks again!! Guest guest
Yes, my friend, we go back many moons! You'll be using the Personal Audio Cable from Cochlear and the Mains Isolation Cable from Cochlear - nothing from Radio Shack. You will then be hearing merged R & L channels through the processor. Here's an overview of DAI accessories for the CP810(N5) processor: http://www.cochlearamericas.com/PDFs/FUN1114.pdf Best, Bob .............. Guest guest
moses, Why not go wireless and use the tele coil feature? Get a stereo transmitter such ws Sennheiser and use a neckloop like the Clearsounds CLA7v2. Look Ma no wires! You then have freedom to move around as you wish without having to disconnect anything. Guest guest
Hey Moses, Also while using the HiFi headphones, switch your processor to Telecoil and see how that sounds. Let us know what you think about listening with your HiFi headphones using the Telecoil compared to using processor's microphone only. Guest guest
U se the audio cable that plugs directly into my processor and plugs into the sterio or ipod like normal headphones. I have cochlear nucleus 5 Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device Re: Re: Using N5,listening to tv to get best speech recognition Hey Moses, Also while using the HiFi headphones, switch your processor to Telecoil and see how that sounds.
