Guest guest
Cochlear's N5 (CP810) *did* hold the record for the most water-resistant processor until quite recently. That title now goes to the upcoming Neptune by Advanced Bionics, a tiny BWP, due this fall in some markets. The Water resistance/proof qualities are stated as IP (Ingress Protection) ratings, with higher numbers better. IP ratings: http://www.ezscreen.com/ip_ratings.htm Here's the IP ratings for the processors mentioned here: Cochlear Freedom: IP44 Cochlear CP810 : IP57 (with rechargeable battery - IP44 with disposable batteries) AB Neptune : IP68 Bob ..... Hello everyone, That although I hope to upgrade to the N5 sometime in the near future. However, I'm still currently using the Freedom. And am wondering to what extent is the Freedom water-resistant or sweat proof? That although I wouldn't necessarily swim with the Freedom, however I'm wondering is it okay to lie down with it under the sun at a beach or at a pool. Whereas I sometime sweat in the process? I'm also aware that the N5 is supposedly the world's most water-resistant sound processor. What about the Freedom? And what has your experience been like with your Freedom or N5 in such situations? Thanks! Dan
