Guest guest
, My remote died in my living room at home where I had been using it for two days, I did go out to my garden to see if it would work but to no avail. I don't use the rechargable batteries. I received my replacement remote yesterday and so far all is well. . N24C 3G August 2002. Otherwise, no problems. I use the usb charger in my car to keep it charged. Love it.
Guest guest
I can change settings on the bilateral N5 using the remote. Can you change the settings on individual N5? I can with the Freedom implant, but not with the N24 implant by itself.
Guest guest
Yes, once you pair the remote assistant with the processor you can use it to change settings in an individual N5. I find using the remote much easier than using the buttons on the processor itself. Bob > > I can change settings on the bilateral N5 using the remote. Can you change > the settings on individual N5? Guest guest
Me too,n I carry the remote with me everywhere even now I'm out and about and wearing it around my neck. It makes changing programmes and everything so much easier. Toovey Re: N5 remote Yes, once you pair the remote assistant with the processor you can use it to change settings in an individual N5. Guest guest
Keep the remote in the case which it came in, so you will not be pressing and buttons by accident. > > One problem with the remote is when it is in my fanny pack, & I happen to > reach in for something, I may accidentally press on it, & ther is a beep & > my program changed, & the remote had been off. > >
Guest guest
I bought a case specific to the remote & it was in that case when the buttons pressed while fiddling in my fanny packe. I will lock it as someone earlier suggested. My processors has been paired with the remote. The remote beeps to indicate a desired change in the setting when I do it bilatterally & when I use only the N5 processor with the Freedom implant, but it will not work only with the N5 & N24 implant. I will ask my audie.
Guest guest
, are you not turning the remote OFF when you finish changing settings? Because you have to press the big Cochlear button quite a while to make the remote turn on. Then you can hit any of the buttons to change the settings. But if you allow the remote to go to the " sleep " setting, then you could change settings with it in your fanny pack. Solution is to make sure you turn the remote control OFF when you finish using it. Again, you press the big button until the screen goes off. The remote is designed to work only with the N5 implant. It will not work with the N24 unless you upgrade to an N5 processor for that implant. Guest guest
, With being blind, & not being able to see the remote, my audie told me to do a slow count to 4 to turn on & off the remote. Then, by pushing one of the setting buttons right after, I can know for sure if it is on or off because it will beep or not beep. Why Cochlear did not make the remote to beep when it comes on or off for us blind folks, I will never know. With the right N24 implant I am using the N5. The left implant I got with the Freedom, & I hear that implant being called the Freedom implant. Is it not? I use the N5 with that one also. The remote works bilaterally & singly with the left N5, but not singly with the right N5 that has the N24 implant.
Guest guest
What about leaving the remote on and then use the lock slide button on the side of the remote to prevent any changes? > > , > With being blind, & not being able to see the remote, my audie told me to do > a slow count to 4 to turn on & off the remote. Guest guest
Hi , Indeed, if you push the buttons to change channels, you will discover if the remote is on or off. Because the remote beeps once for each channel you select, Cochlear probably chose to not put a beep on to indicate if it's on or off. Since you can do it another way, that's the way to do it. News to me that the remote won't work for the N5 upgrade on an N24 processor. Ask your audiologist if it's supposed to. I use a Freedom upgrade on my N24 implant. So the remote won't work on that. But I use the remote for the right side, because I have an N5 implant on that side. I would think the N5 remote would work with any N5 processor, but check with your audi on that. , With being blind, & not being able to see the remote, my audie told me to do a slow count to 4 to turn on & off the remote. Guest guest
, On another list a DB said some people encountered difficulty with their remote & new software has to be created to solve the problem. Will see what the audie says.
Guest guest
It is. , please consider that upgrades, unlike the implants, sometimes will bring in new issues that need to be worked out. Guest guest
Rae, I am having trouble with the remote buttons not activating the first few times I push the buttons, & it is not working with the N24 implant individually. I see my audie later this week about the problem. Someone told me Cochlear has come out with new software for the remote to solve problems, but I do not know if this is valid info. Guest guest
. Can you contribute something here? Some people actually have issues with their remotes and and Rae are two who do. You must not be one of them. Quote of the nanosecond... Where there's a will, I want to be in it. & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn E-mail- Gone.to.Dawgs@...
