Guest guest
Yeah! It's coming up quick! I had simultaneous surgery and will be activated with the N5's July 26-27. And I plan on teaching this fall!
Guest guest
I was given 60 batteries for the N5 around the end of April when I received the processing unit and todate I have used none of them. I use the 2 rechargeable batteries solely; I swap batteries in the morning putting the older one on the charging unit.  With the initial receipt of the processing unit, the voices sound cartoonish but after the 1st programming followup, the sounds began to be more natural and understandable. My last evaluation was 85% voice discrimination without lipreading and I am still tweaking it and working with it to improve my hearing.  Harry From: littlebitd57 <littlebitd57@...> Sent: Saturday, July 16, 2011 4:39 PM Subject: activation day  My husband Don had his follow up with doctor and now we are anxiously waiting for activation day which is Aug 3. We have read from different N5 recipients of the first sounds they hear right after being activated. Most have been encouraging. He would like to know how long does it take before he can hear the tv? Also where is the best place to get batteries for theN5?
Guest guest
I only use the rechargeable batteries. I got three when I got activated and rotate them daily. They easily last all day. Everything had/has a robot sound, but I'm hearing really well 9 weeks post-activation. I got 91% on the sentence test in the sound booth after 5 weeks. Doing the exercises on the Sound and Way Beyond CD really helps. I find I can hear TV the best using the music program. --- 39 PM > Subject: activation day > > > Â > My husband Don had his follow up with doctor and now we are anxiously waiting for activation day which is Aug 3.
