Tania, great you have a date set for your myotomy. Better days

are just around the corner. For once don't worry about things

at home, I am sure with your mother's help your family will do

just fine.

I'm so happy that you finally have a date set. That s a big step!

Its good for you to be selfish once in a while! You'll stay sane

that way! You need time for yourself! That is what your husband

and mom are for! Take advantage while you get yourself better! I

hope you are continuing to stay strong! The countdown begins!

Hi

I know exactly what you are going through, as I have only just gone

through and am still going through it myself. Dont worry, everything

will be just fine. I had to leave my 3 kids, it was tough but I

thought that in order to take care of them properly, I had to take

care of myself. I was gone for about 3 days and 1 & 1/2 days the

week prior and you know what, they managed just fine. My 11 month

old went completely off his milk but other than that he managed. I

usually sleep with him in my bed, and he, my 3 year old and I have

never been apart, this was the first time. I was worried if

something would go wrong during surgery but it didnt. When I got

home my husband and my mum looked after the kids and did everything

else. My husband is a bit stressed out because of the kids but it

will at least make him appreciate going to work and make him

appreciate what I do from day to day. Hopefully you have a good

support group and if you do, everything will be ok. You will manage

and it will be all worthwhile. There is no use panicking it wont

achieve anything. If I can do it, so can you.

I should get my date today - I have had a for 3 years but its been really bad

for about 2

months where I started losing weight. Right now Im living on ensure only. Its

pretty gross

but at least it gets down.

Soon we both will be eating again - good luck!

Hello Bijana:

THIS WAS SAID PERFECTLY! None of us wants to think that our

families and the world in general can get along without us. But

honestly, it makes our families stronger. I love the truth .. your

hubby will truly appreciate what all you do to keep it all together.

I hope all the young mothers who NEVER put themselves first read this

and understand how important it is to take care of there health in

order to take care of their families.

Hi Tania,

So glad you have a date and are on the road to recovery!

Classic Achalasia just means that the oesophagus is a bit bigger and ends in

a typical 'Bird's beak' A narrowed portion [which looks like a bird's head

and beak] before it goes into the LES.

I can only echo the words of wisdom from the others about thinking of

yourself now and again. I often say - 'It's my turn' when I need to take a

break or have something done. Everything will be OK and they will appreciate

you twice as much afterwards!
