wouldn't that be text messages and email,

Anyone know of a TTY Cell Phone?

Hello group,

I like using a TTY telephone because I want to hear every word said to me, as

many people can get all bent up when they have to repeat themselves. Every once

in a while, like today, my Ultratec TTY Phone reads garbled messages & the relay

operator cannot help me. They cannot figure out why this happens sometimes. I do

have a DSL filter since I have verizon Fios with the telephone going through the

cable. I'm also tired of paying all of that money to the almighty cable company

& would like to get a dish. So, does anyone know of any company that sells a TTY

cell phone that I can purchase?. The wife, who has normal hearing, has a

T-Mobile phone & likes it, but they offer no TTY. Thanks...Barry in Pa.

You can search for TTY compatible cell phones here:

http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/finder.php

Be sure to click on " Show All Options " (highlighted near top)

Then, under Features > Accessibility, select Digital TTY/TDD as a required

feature.

One option you might try is to contact Ultratec and ask about the issues

that may be related to the DSL.

I know that T-Mobil has the TTY text phones. I have one myself. Texting

is free all you have to do is go to T-Mobil and get a phone and a number,

it will cost you a little bit a month but texting is unlimited any voice

calls you must pay for.

Barry, I was told once that the garbled messages were caused by your TTY

setting too close to other electrical products. Like your computer or your

printer. Maybe if you moved it a little away from the computer or what

ever it is near it would stop that. But I had T-Mobil cell phone and texting

is free as I said in a former message. patsy

Moved it to another room years ago, & it still does it sometimes. The relay
