Guest guest
Judy, Have you contacted your. Audie? Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone on O2 Re: Cochlear N5 Telecoil I agree wholeheartedly that if it works for you, then that's wonderful. I keep hearing from people how well it works for them and I always say, " I'm happy for you, but it's NOT working for me. " I think they believe that if they tell me often enough, it will change for me. I'm not sure that will happen and so I think no one should be discouraged from speaking about any trouble they have with their processors. Judy " I just confirmed that the telecoil cannot be repositioned. " It appears then, that until Cochlear does some re-engineering of the N5 that anyone upgrading to it or being fitted with one as their first CI, will simply have to live with their old Freedom processor or live with less than satisfactory telecoil performance. For any who are concerned it would be helpful if you would express those concerns to your CI surgeon, his/her audiologist and Cochlear's home offices and any Cochlear reps you might have contact with. Guest guest
I am wondering, Judy, if the folks reporting good N5 telecoil performance have actually tested it under the same conditions as you: seated at random in a looped venue, say a church or like - and with no variation in sound level as the head is rotated. That is the test - not with a neckloop, not with a small living-room loop. Bob ...... Guest guest
Hi judy I am same the only acceSsory I use with my N5 is the audio cable that I coNnevt to my ipod and maybe laptop when I'm listening to music but then again since I have only been activated for around 10 weeks of course I am still learning. One thing foes help though, during my operation I did not lose My natural hearing which is a good advantage I guess. Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone on O2 Re: Cochlear N5 Telecoil I've had that thought too, Bob, because I've heard from folks that the N5 works fine and yet they don't use the t-coil or loops. Like you, I had wondered if they had given the t-coil and the looping environment a good trial. It's not something that's done in a day or two, but takes weeks at the least.
