Guest guest
Hi , That question, as written, will be literally impossible to answer. Here is why. We are not able to test drive a cochlear implant so we cannot compare them on that basis. What it must come down to is, which brand will offer the most desirable features. Given that all 3 brands generally produce comparable results, that is the bottom line. I have the Cochlear brand, Nucleus N24 implant (11 years old) with Freedom processor. Come November or so, I plan to upgrade to the newest Nucleus 5 processor. I have no dount this will be a good move for me. So look at the features and consider what you want in every day life. Top most is reliability for once implanted, you dont want to go thru that again. Ease of use. Power source and how long they last (disposable and rechargeable battery). And so on. Home Page- http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/ Which shall I choose? I've been to hospital recently because my hearing was going down hill and need some reassuring. Relief that I was possible to get cochlear implant which could restore my hearing possible better than I was younger. In favour I like to ask which you found beneficial a Nucleus 5 or, Opus 2? I look forward to some feed back and what should I pepare for? Because yourself been through new experience.
Guest guest
Thanks for advice. I just need to widen my option but only the two were suggested for me to think about. Thanks again though > > Hi , > That question, as written, will be literally impossible to answer. Guest guest
Those two options,Cochlear and MED-EL, are the only ones presently available in the US, with Advanced Bionic's HiRes 90K implant not having returned to market after recall. Guest guest
You can request information packets from both and also when you visit the clinic, look at the hardware. Ask questions, lots of questions. I am quite happy with Cochlear but I am biased. This step of researching one's choices is always the toughest. But worth the time as once implanted, you are stuck with it. Quote of the nanosecond... I have seen the truth and it makes no sense. & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn E-mail- Gone.to.Dawgs@... Guest guest
the biggest decision is to go forward with a CI. That done, pick the brand that suits YOU. They both do the job - albeit with different features and gadgets. Go with what you are comfortable with. That advice could go for your choice of car, church, community, etc. Good luck! Keep us in the loop with your journey. Neely in Dallas Texas > > I've been to hospital recently because my hearing was going down hill and need some reassuring.
