I just came across a situation. We put in the order for the N5 by phone and I

was told that Medicare's 80% my primary insurancxe and Empire's 20% would be

full coverage. Friday my husband called Cochear because theysent him an order

form on the computer requesting credit card information. Turns out, yes,

Medicare will cover the 80% -they have no doubt about that- but they're not

participating in empire Plan insurance. I had to send them a check for the 20%,

which I hopefully will get backfrom empire.

Moses,

Do you have traditional Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan? I thought

Medicare does not preapprove anything.

Medicare did not pay for my Freedom either, and my 3G must be about 8

years

old by now. Cochlear's reimbursement department told me that Medicare

would not cover an upgrade for me until October regardless of who paid for

my

Freedom.

Hi All,

Heard from one of the audiologist at Cochlear that both SPEAK and CIS

are available for the Nucleus 5 upgrade. New software is out and the

ability to program using both of those strategies is included.
