Guest guest
I had lost my hearing suddenly back in 1951 9 days after my third child was born. Then in 1980's while volunteering for a disability office learned of Cochlear implants. . Went to a CI Lab and went through all tests then and was told it would not help me. However, a few years later went to see a ENT that was a protoge of Dr. House of House Ear Institute in CA, Had a daughter-in-law working at this hospital and told me of this so went to see him. He set up a date and picked my left ear . He had so answer for that when I inquired. Since lost hearing so suddenly in both ears. HOWEVER, this past December had the N5 put in the 60year deaf ear and to my amazement I can hear and tell the difference between a man or woman's voice which am not able to do so in the left ear. It did enhance my lipreading and bring my voice back on the left ear but all voices sounded the same. Also, had tinnitus all my life and the CI has been a God Send as it is so much more quiet than formerly. in MO
