Guest guest
Hi , We are going through the same thing right now.My husband is unemployed and receiving benefits. We also qualify for CHIPS but the problem is that if I let go of my primary insurance then we run the risk of not finding doctors that would care for my son. Many of our doctors will not take Medicaid and CHIPS is essentially the same program in our state. We currently have Medicaid as a Secondary insurance but even now his Psychiatrist just informed us with at $500.00 bill that he does not take medicaid even if it is our secondary. I know it is illegal for him not to have told us but we now have to choose whether to continue care or pay for care we cannot afford. A difficult choice. So we are paying for the Counselor with a co-pay, a Psychiatrist all the medical plus all of my medical and my daughters medical. It does often seem very overwhelming. I too worry if my husband gets work but what we are making is not adequate. We also just got an estimate for braces which is $9,600 for both of the kids. It is amazing. Guest guest
HI all, I mostly " lurk now " as Sophie has had her implant for nearly 3 years and things have been going okay. But, nowI am having a problem with my insurance covering AVT. I know I have read somewhere where others have had similar problems and requested a case manager from the insurance company for assistance. Can anyone give me some tips, information, pointers, whatever on how to proceed? My understanding from the get-go was that if the insurance co. paid for the surgery and implant, which they did, they must also cover the AVT since it is part of the rehabilitation. I have a call in to the center where we go for AVT, but have not heard back yet this morning. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
