Guest guest
On a different note for a second, the blind list for CI people doesn't work. My husband just tried the website. Trish Re: Battery life N5 / Fast and slow mapping It is all about the speed at which the processor runs whilst forming the input to send to your implant. On Cochlear brand devices the strategies are called " ACE(RE) " (high speed), " ACE " (slower speed), and " SPEAK " which mentions, an older slow strategy. The slower speed maps are less power hungry. Here in the UK, you receive a printout of your maps after every session. Received wisdom had taught that the greater information input of high speed maps gave a better result to those who can handle them (some cannot). I am now told that lower speed mapping is back in favour, and was given a map to try, on which the jury is still out.. Hope this helps. > > > > I get great life from the rechargeables on the N5, and great life from > > the disposables on the Freedom. Why? Because I use and prefer a real > > slow mapping strategy. Guest guest
It's a deaf blind list for CI users but, as it turned out, it worked and I'm confirmed. I don't know what's going to happen though. Re: Re: Battery life N5 / Fast and slow mapping On a different note for a second, the blind list for CI people doesn't work. Guest guest
Also, ACE has many speeds.... the faster will use up more battery power and with the slower ACE, battery life will be longer Happy Hearing!
