Guest guest
In 1996 my surgeon wanted to implant my right ear, which tested slightly better than my left ear. I had the longest " hearing history " in my left ear. This was the ear I had worn a hearing aid the longest. I reasoned that this ear was the ear I wanted implanted because everything always sounded better in that ear. I am pleased to say that this has been a miracle for me! In 2003 I had my right ear implanted. While it does almost as well as my first implant, I still slightly favor the original implant side. So, in my case it appears to me that either ear was a good choice. I was like your mother in that I received little or no benefit from my hearing aids. I wish her the best!!
