Guest guest
Patty, Thats awesome. That smooth thing, I know about. I wouldnt say the total gym is all that smooth, and often makes a whooshing noise so its hard to watch (hear) tv! At Curves, their machines are very smooth, and effective. Works like a charm. Let me know about any type of fat loss or weight loss. OK? I have only lost a few inches, but you know how it is. We all have our problems, and mine is specifically a low metabolism.Could be a sluggish liver, or need to detox more- or perhaps my thyoid meds. I have been on the dissected pig thyroid now for almost 2 years, and to no avail, I am going to start this new year with a change! I am trying out some t3 and t4 mixture next week, with this doc about a hour from me. As I am getting a second opinion on the thyroid meds I am on (armour) I just dont think it is working. Never have. Dr Mercola realy thinks it is the best for me. But as much as I admire him on all other topics, I just dont think that I am leveled out the way I should be. I just have this bad feeling that all the is time, I havent lost weight, have low progesterone levels, still being puffy, adrenals off, and am wondering is the numbness in my feet that come and go a type of thyroid resistance thing? Progesterone has helped, but can only go far if your starved thyroid is competing for its hormones. They work together. Im still going to see Dr Mercola , I just need to try a different hormone. Wish me luck! And good luck to you with the Bo Flex! >From: "Dave & Patty" >Reply- >>Subject: Re: Bowflex >Date: Wed, 21 Jan 2004 07:53:03 -0800 > >, >I love it already! I can watch TV while doing my workout (I never have time for TV usually) and it makes the time go by really fast. I find the resistance training to be so smooth and way different than using free weights or the weight training machines at the gym--I don't know how to describe it, except to say that the movements are more controlled and just smoother....I feel like I can get a really good workout (my arms are still sore!) and yet not feel like I am working out like a horse. It was definitely worth the investment given that most of my other workout equipment gathers dust. >Patty > ----- Original Message ----- > From: JOSEPH PALANCA > > Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2004 7:46 AM > Subject: Re: Re: Helloooooo . . . Guest guest
, I definitely agree with the thyroid issue, if you are having symptoms still while on the Armour thyroid it's probably a really good idea to check out how the other thyroid meds may work for you. Some people (like me, ha ha) are really stuck on the natural stuff but the truth is that sometimes the conversion isn't there that needs to be and no matter what you do, it isn't going to be enough or what your body needs. Some people who do not respond to Armour thyroid will respond beautifully to Synthroid or synthetic T4 thyroid replacement. Likewise, some people who do poorly on Synthroid really take off on the Armour. Sometimes the added T3 is needed as well. Dr. Shames makes that very clear in his book called Thyroid Power. So, I think you are doing the right thing by checking out the other meds available to see what works best for you, and your best ally will be a doctor who understands the complexity of balancing thyroid hormones and will work with you, it just takes time and patience. I have a formerly saline implanted friend (not on this board) who was on Armour, and it just didn't cut it for her. She went on Synthroid and felt tons better, so sometimes that is just what is needed. I hope you find your answer! About the numbness, , are you taking B-12 sublinguals or shots at all? That may be one issue if you have overlooked it, especially if you have cut out alot of meats. B-12 deficiencies lead to nerve damage, and I don't know if there are any statistics out there for us on it, but I know that I find the B-12 helpful for me. I have heard of a couple women showing a problem with it, I think Eileen Swanson of SOSalines was one of them. Good luck on your thyroid meds, I hope you find just the right combination that makes you feel good again.
