Guest guest
What is co approval? It seems near criminal to me to remove an adrenal without knowing if it is excess-aldo producing. While US medicine may not be perfect, at least we have choices. That will disappear if socialized med becomes reality. Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of gaznik111 I am in the uk and my endo are well behind the states, they wouldnt do AVS prior to surgery, it dosnt help me but after my surgery the surgeon had said the had a team meeting and are now discussing the AVS route, i have obviously given this site and your name to them so hopefully they can understand and treat future patients better. Prior to surgery was on co approval 300mg amlodepene 20mg inspra 50mg simvastin 10mg, i am only on the simvastin and co approval now any help comments appreciated
Guest guest
Well, gee, I just looked up co approval. It is Irbesartin + thiazide. I would guess you are being OD'd on BP lowering med. http://www.cardiologychannel.com/hypertension/pharm.shtml Angiotensin-receptor blockers (ARBs). This is a new class of medications, which are similar in some respects to ACE inhibitors. Like ACE inhibitors, they help dilate arteries, lowering blood pressure and making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Also, like ACE inhibitors, they can improve congestive heart failure symptoms, decrease the chances of future hospitalizations for heart failure, and prolong life. Ongoing studies are comparing the effects of ARBs with the ACE inhibitors and are investigating the use of both in patients with heart failure. Currently available ARBs include: Candesartan (Atacand®) Irbesartin (Avapro®) Losartin (Cozaar®) Telmisartin (Micardis®) Valsartan (Diovan®) ARBs are generally taken once a day and do not commonly produce significant side effects. Rarely, they interfere with or worsen kidney function. > I am hoping DR Grim may have some advice for me, after the first few > days my bp seemed stable as i said above, the last 2 days its been > low highest reading 105/67 lowest 92-52, i have a bad headace am very > week and fluctuate between hot sweets and cold fever and feel sick > alot ( havnt been sick as yet). Guest guest
Sounds like they got the major source for now. The other adrenal has been asleep as the one with the tumor was causing salt and water retention and suppression of renin and AII and the other adrenals ability to make aldo. See my article for details Get a copy of your path report on your adrenal for you and your family's future reference and documentation. Before we could measure renin and aldo we used a fall in BP , rise in K and fall in wt as evidence that we had gotten the correct side. Guest guest
Hi. My potassium was high after the surgery but it depends on who drew my blood. The one guy sqeezed blood out of my finger tip because he couldn't find a vein and that caused my levels to be real high. It was drawn again and from over 6 it went down to 3.9. All depends on the way they do things and or don't know if it could be a medical condition too---not a doctor. Good luck. I had my surgery almost a month ago, and BP is now much better. My primary doctor is thrilled that BP is normal and that the daily headaches is reduced to a weekly problem. I am not thirsty all the time any more, or have to pee 15-20 times a day. BUT the fatigue continues, the muscle pain and cramping is still there, maybe even a little worse. I was hoping to get rid off the brain-fog, that has sett my life on hold for several years now, but it is still there. None of these symptoms shows on the outside and the doctors don't seem to care. Guest guest
Hi. I am having that issue as well with the high heart rate. How long does the system take to usually reset after an adrenalectomy? Guest guest
These are questions best answered by your implant center. I'm willing to bet they gave you a phone number to call or perhaps an e mail. Give them a call. Bleeding from the nose is not uncommon, but none of us here are Doctors. Jaw ache might be from the position you were in on the operating table. But do ask your clinic or doctor to avoid needless worry. You do know NOT to blow your nose, I hope? Take the pain medication as directed. Don't wait for pain to start, because it takes longer to conquer it once it gets going. Afternoon all, Is it common for your nose to bleed off and on after CI Surgery? I just got home. Also my right jaw kind of hurst but not bad. Nothing really to complain about and went smooth, just with the demerol would ware off though. ____________________________________________________________ Weight Loss Program Best Weight Loss Program - Click Here! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/c?cp=m01C9Cd9uqYb62zG4A1UTwAAJ1CAYQG2fn\ ZWBLacCwlpBoaTAAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEUgAAAAA=
Guest guest
Just had my surgery today. Right behind you, ! I had horrible pain in my jaw for a few hours, which they said was normal... it's much better now but could be the pain killers. No nose bleed, but they told me that if CLEAR liquid came out of my nose, that was something to call the doctor about. Hope you're feeling okay, . I'm not feeling that great, but much better now than a couple hours ago. - > From: Nucleus24 <nucleus24@...> > Subject: Re:After Surgery > > Date: Friday, February 26, 2010, 3:04 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > These are questions best answered by your implant > center. Guest guest
, I took the bandage off today, was difficult to sleep with it on last night. Dr. didn't give me any pain killers, they loaded me full of pain medication before I left yesterday and told me to take Tylenol with Motrin four times a day for pain. I gave in today and called my pcp to get some vicodin to last me until next wednesday. I have been mainly in bed for the most part. I found out that the blood I am coughing up every now and again as well as the nose bleed is from the tube they put down my thought after I was out. I am very very nauseated today, stomach feels wierd but am just going to deal with it and see what tomorrow brings. For the most part I guess I am going in the direction that I should be going after surgery. Was just paranoid yesterday. I hope all is well with you and sounds like we will both be learning since done basically around the same time. ________________________________ From: Yuan <lisayuan3@...> Sent: Fri, February 26, 2010 9:49:06 PM Subject: Re: Re:After Surgery  Just had my surgery today. Guest guest
Hi , It's nice to have a " buddy " going through this together. I am feeling better today. I've got a big bruise above my mouth, I'm guessing from the tubes. It almost looks like a moustache. That with my turban has given me a bit of comic relief every time I look in the mirror. Anyway, I'm so sorry you're not feeling very well. The coughing must be so painful. Every time I burp or move my mouth, it hurts like hell. Also, I wonder if your headache this morning could be from the Vicodin? Even though it's a pain killer, Vicodin has been known to cause migraines in some people. I've taken it once before and ended up with the most debiliating headache. I'm taking a pain killer called Propoxyphen-APAP... seems to be doing a good job without many side effects. I had heard going into this that the surgery was so easy, just a couple hours in the hospital and mild discomfort after that could be eased with Advil. I guess we are proof that we all have different experiences. I spent 11 hours in the hospital with extreme pain and discomfort. I also heard that hair was no longer shaved, but that must vary between hospitals. I did have a patch shaved off, not sure how big yet but will see when I take off the bandage today. Anyway, my thoughts are with you. I hope your headache and tinnitus subside soon. You're right... Valium sounds good right about now! - > > > > > From: Nucleus24 <nucleus24juno (DOT) com> > > > Subject: Re:After Surgery > > > groups (DOT) com > > > Date: Friday, February 26, 2010, 3:04 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > These are questions best answered by your implant > > > center. Guest guest
, Just woke up again with some pain in the back of the head. Took another Vicodin and Motrin. Vicodin doesn't give me headaches. I think it's just from the surgery but am learning from everyone else which I assume you are as well. You will like having the bandage off, I know I did. Still have some stuck to the strips but am going to have my PCP take the rest off on Monday as for I am to nervous to do it. Afraid I may pull the strips off over the incision. Hope you do well today and get better. ________________________________ From: Yuan <lisayuan3@...> Sent: Sat, February 27, 2010 8:48:00 AM Subject: Re: Re:After Surgery  Hi , It's nice to have a " buddy " going through this together. I'm taking a pain killer called Propoxyphen- APAP... seems to be doing a good job without many side effects. - > > > > > From: Nucleus24 <nucleus24juno (DOT) com> > > > Subject: Re:After Surgery > > > groups (DOT) com > > > Date: Friday, February 26, 2010, 3:04 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > These are questions best answered by your implant > > > center. Guest guest
Deborah, I am in Glendale, Az. and don't prefer to give out all of my Dr's info. unless you absolutely need it for your own medical purposes. Thanks, ________________________________ From: DEBORAH COLE <deborah_anne419@...> Sent: Sat, February 27, 2010 11:51:47 AM Subject: Re: Re:After Surgery  Ortis I'm jsut curious, Where are you at and where does your Dr. practice at? the hospital or Cochlear Center?
