Hi group, I've been lurking the past month or so. I live in Queensland

Australia, and Ted F mentioned the group to me through another website,

as I am considering a CI. Have been hearing impaired since my early

20's, now 45, and profoundly deaf, using bilateral BTE digital aids

(Siemens Artis SP) that help somewhat, but not enough anymore.

Anyway, thought I would share something I saw in my local newspaper.

The first Australian CI recipient to be registered as an audiologist in

Australia.

Hope you enjoy the story.

Cheers

them even speak English :-)

Hi :

Welcome!

As Ted mentioned, this group is a great place to get more info on

CI's. Also, thanks for sharing the link on the first Australian CI

recipient to be registered as an audiologist in Australia. I wonder

if there are any in the U.S.?

I had surgery for my CI on April 3, 2007, activated May 8, 2007. It

has REALLY changed my life! I have progressive hearing loss and

wearing hearing aids just was not helping anymore.
