Guest guest
Hi Iggy and everyone, I agree, it's been so very quiet! Maybe it is just the holidays....I know I have not been spending nearly as much time on the computer since Christmas, and we were out of town this weekend. Today I have a new girl starting to work with me in my office here at home, so I probably won't be able to get on here much this week at all with showing her the ropes, along with payroll and a workman's comp audit. It will be a very busy week, but I hope to get into a routine again real quick and have more free time to spend on the computer. I hope you are all doing well, and had a very nice New Years! We stayed up late only because my son went to a New Year's Eve shindig at our church and I wanted to make sure he got home safe and sound. Otherwise, my husband and I don't go out or do anything special. We always ring in the new year quietly, maybe watching the fireworks display from the Strip on TV. It is always a huge event on the Strip! Our weekend with my in-laws in Mesa Arizona was very nice. We took the scenic route down from Las Vegas, going through Flagstaff, where we spent the night in a hotel for fun and woke up to a snow blanketed city. We went further out of our way, going through Payson and it is gorgeous country! We hit more snow there, probably close to 6 inches on the highway and it was just all very pretty. Arizona is such a diverse state--although it was still chilly in Mesa, there were actually people swimming in the pool at my inlaws! Only in Arizona can you have snow and swimming on the same day...I love and really miss Arizona. Okay, well, that is enough blabber. Just thought I would catch up with the group, and let you know what is going on my way. I am feeling great, but I expect to be feeling even greater this month as I finally start on my new years resolutions...no more sugar, no white flour products. That is my goal for January, and then I'll see how far I can go with it. I also need to start on a new exercise program, but figuring out that one is hard. I just need to spend an hour getting it done, but finding that hour is where I always go wrong! I must find a solution that works. Oh, and Rogene, I am with ya on the organization goals! I've got plans to go through closets one at a time and start pitching useless stuff or giving things away. Time to reduce clutter! God bless everyone...I pray that you are all optimistic for a wonderful 2004 and are making plans of your own for better health this year. Guest guest
Patty glad that you finally got some help in your office. That is great news. I hope that you can find some time for that work out program, that is what keeps me going sometimes I swear by it. Sounds like you had a nice time in AZ, I don't know that I could handle living there in the summer though, or Vegas for that matter, tee hee, I hate the heat, anything above 90 and I melt, but then I am in the freeze here and that is really bad too, my feet are always frozen ha ha. Oh well, I guess where my hubby is will always be where I am. Hugs to you In , " Dave & Patty " <fdp3@c...> wrote: > Hi Iggy and everyone, > I agree, it's been so very quiet! Guest guest
Yeah we had a total blast, I will have to down load the digital pics of me and all decked out that night, I wore a spaghetti strap black velvet dress with my little enhancers and had tons of cleavage, it looked hot. My hubby looks so nice and he likes to dress up too, in a tie and all, really fun. The table we sat at was represnting the hospital I work at(eastern Idaho regional medical center) for the United Way. It was the United Ways bash and the dinner and all was free cept drinks. We just drink water anyhow. hee hee. The others drank margaritas and they were funny to watch. My boss is cool, she got us on the list, they had 10 spots. The funniest thing was every couple at the table was in their second marriage, and there was two of us that met on line including JOhn and I, funny huh? Anyhow we had a blast. Our new year has been a good one. I have to admit I love to look at the snow but I am not much at playing in it. It just gets me too cold, and when my feet are cold I get useless, I hate it. I am going to get those heated socks with the battery's I think hee hee. Salmon Idaho is really gorgeous though, bout 3 hours from here, very much surounded by mountains, it is on the way to Sun Valley ID. It sounds like your new years was fun too, lots of time with your little boy and that is so nice that he is over his sickness. It is so scary when kids get ill, even just with a cold isn't it? Ug. Anyhow, back into life and the routine again, ha I went to the tanning salon this morning to defrost as it was -8 degrees today, burrrrrrr. I know they say those things are bad for you, but gosh I love how warm it makes me. Anyhow HAPPY NEW YEAR and may your health be better and better and may this be the year that your dreams all come true. love and hugs In , " JOSEPH PALANCA " <juliejp61@m...> wrote: >
Guest guest
do you worry that the fasting will screw up your metabolism? It seems like when I don't eat enough I tend to put on a pound or two or when i do start to eat more it becomes far more troublesome. Also do you work out when fasting? Where on earth do you get the motivation and the stregnth to do it? I just cannot imagine not eating, I freaking think I am a food addict sometimes, gosh I love to eat. I know it is bad but I just love food! We had the BEST pizza in Salmon Id of all places at this little place called Dave's pizza, oh my gosh I ate 6 pieces, hee hee. I love it, just love it. How on eath could I ever get by without my late's in the morning? I drink non fat sugar free late's I admit I am addicted and not happy when I do not have one. Geeze, I guess I have not made any real resolutions, cept to work out more and get more cut. HUgs <juliejp61@m...> wrote: >

Guest guest
, but working out more and getting more cut are very real resolutions! Go with it! I used to worry about fasting and lowering metabolism , although my metaboism is so screwed up , I dont think I could mess it up any further. After lots of prayer, working out, and time(2 yrs later) I truley believe that after all I have read, I have what is called toxic weight that is keeping me in a time still. Meaning my liver is slow and burdened, my fat cells are backed up with toxins, and so, everything is moving slow. Metabolism, cell repair, detoxing.. So until iclean up, I wont ge t any better, and wont ose any weight. I have too acidic of an enviroment. Another thing not to worry is by the 3rd day, you can incorporate fresh veggie broth, and by the 5th, you can have the soft veggies in it, applesause and broth. All the while of drinking juice made of many mineral and vitaman giving lemons. So I will be intaking calories, just very pure and smaller amounts. I truely believe that fasting (and enemas, hot baths, and veggie fast ) and to detox aggressivly is far more important than possilbly slowing my metabolim. As I already have very slow metabolism, and cannot train it to do any more no matter how much I work out, or eat, or supplement.I have to clean up, besides I want to do it for my next baby. Anyway, wish me luck! Love >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Helloooooo . . . It's too quiet! >Date: Mon, 05 Jan 2004 18:55:32 -0000 > > do you worry that the fasting will screw up your metabolism? Guest guest
Hey Patty, I am at 5 weeks post procedure and about the same as before it, maybe slightly worse. The ossa tron guy told my husband the other day he has never had a patient that didn't get improvement from this treatment for this foot pain. I love being the only one, ha ha. I figure though he is like the PS's that say they never had a sick patient, I bet my old PS does not tell new patients about me for sure. Anyhow it is supposed to take up to 12 weeks, but I feel it should have improved more by now. It is extremely depressing to think I might be stuck with mysterious foot pain for the rest of my life, I am only 39 years old geeze! It does seem better when the weather warms up though. Anyhow it has not slowed me down on my working out, I have been just sweating up a storm down in the basement, I love having my own gym at home, it was worth every penny. I get to work out now when I would normally not be at the gym like on Sunday afternoons and stuff, so I am losing fat and I swear my arms and legs have never looked harder or more buffed and firm. I swear by the bowflex, it is an awesome machine, but you have to use it, hee hee. Anyhow, between that and my other equiptment I have been doing up to 3 hour a day workouts, but now that school is starting up that will probably be changing on me. I will have homework and I am sure this next math class is going to be more challenging. I am happy about it though, I did well last sememster, no A's but B's, pretty good for someone that not only was so ill only 3 years ago, but also who has not been in school since well, hee hee, ya know, along long time for sure. Anyhow, that is about it for me, other than my right foot and alittle in the left heel, I feel so fantastic, I am pretty happy and not going to complain too much about anything I am blessed, and so happy to not have brain fog! I swear of all the symptoms, it was the brain fog that was by far the most horrible for me, I always used to say I could live with some pain if I could just get rid of the danged brain fog, guess I got my wish. I do need to have another dexa bone scan, I am curious to know if the increase in my weight lifting has helped my bone density any. I also may need a sleep study, but I am not so keen on that one, I already know that with no medication and things hooked up on my head that I won't be sleeping, so what is the point ha ha. Guest guest
-- I was just wondering if you thought it was possible that you keep reinjuring your foot from all the intense workouts you do. Perhaps it just isn't getting enough time to heal properly? I am sorry that this procedure doesn't seem to be helping, but give it time. Have you ever had reflexology? They work on your feet--actually to help all areas of your body--but it sure hurt like heck on my foot too and then my foot felt better. What part of your foot actually gives you the pain? Is it possible muscles or tendons are involved? I guess I don't know that much about your condition. Could you explain it a little more? Hope it starts to feel better soon. kathy - In , " Dave & Patty " <fdp3@c...> wrote: > Oh darn, , that's too bad that the procedure you underwent didn't seem to help so far. Guest guest
Kathy No I don't think I am reinjuring it right now (with exercise at least) since most of what I do in my gym is weight lifting(upper body) and not on my feet. I do ride my bike, spinning bike and rarely use the eliptical since my procedure. However, I do feel that with feet of course there is the risk that every time you get up your tearing or reinjuring something in there, that is def possible. I know the winter makes it worse, the cold here is really really cold. I do feel better in summer. My foot thing def could be related to all the running I used to do, I don't do it anymore of course but there were times when I probably forced and ran through the pain instead of resting and icing etc, that is def for sure. I know it is inflamation because steroid shots have healed it in the past, but the risk with those shots is not worth continueing them and in the long run they stop working for long anyhow. Is it implant related inflammation? possible, but why? Nothing else hurts anymore, my back and all that neck stuff is gone, my brain fog is gone, so why the feet? I mean it just makes little sense. It also switched from being mostly the left that was the bad one to now being mostly the right. The pain is located mostly in the very back of the heel, it seems to the touch that it is actually just bone there, but I am told there is a tiny space between the bone and the fascia of the muscle there that holds the inflammation in. It is very tender to the touch, if squeezed it feels like a bad bruise. In the morning when I first get up I need to stretch and then I can walk without it being too bad. I can never go barefoot, even in the shower I have to wear rubber sandals, and I think it could be an arch issue from wearing spiked heels for years too. I just don't know. It is very very strange and mysterious and tiresome. that is about all I know. Right now I cannot afford any more therapy, reflexology I bet is expensive, I just cannot afford it. I have spent so much on this crap between the explant and accupuncture and dr's and treatments and massages and physical therapy, blah blah blah, oh yeah and all those expensive inserts, shoes, etc and nothing has ever worked cept very very short term. thanks for caring. Guest guest
, the brain fog was the worst symptom for me too, it was so awful, and you are lucky that yours went away completely. Mine is gone for the most part, but every now and then it seems to crop up for some reason. I'm thinking maybe allergies to some foods, but thank God I have improved as much as I have too. I always am interested to hear from all the girls on the group how they are doing as far as the brain fog goes. I really wish I could get a bowflex and do a crazy workout every day. I had great expectations for the new year for working out and getting on track with a perfect detox lifestyle and workout routine, but so far, I've still been overwhelmed with "stuff" to do. Once I get my office help settled, it will all be mind over matter, getting the right frame of mind is so vital for success, and just plain doing it no matter what. When I was at my sickest, I had great motivation to do whatever I could to get better. Now that I am feeling so good all the time again, I've lost some of that much needed motivation. Actually, I just got over my first cold in years, and that had alot to do with not keeping on track with my new years resolutions. There's still time! This sounds crazy, but if I could be addicted to something, I wish I could be addicted to exercise! I hope you are doing okay on your new math class...what is it? I am happy about it though, I did well last sememster, no A's but B's, pretty good for someone that not only was so ill only 3 years ago, but also who has not been in school since well, hee hee, ya know, along long time for sure.Anyhow, that is about it for me, other than my right foot and alittle in the left heel, I feel so fantastic, I am pretty happy and not going to complain too much about anything I am blessed, and so happy to not have brain fog! I swear of all the symptoms, it was the brain fog that was by far the most horrible for me, I always used to say I could live with some pain if I could just get rid of the danged brain fog, guess I got my wish.I do need to have another dexa bone scan, I am curious to know if the increase in my weight lifting has helped my bone density any. I also may need a sleep study, but I am not so keen on that one, I already know that with no medication and things hooked up on my head that I won't be sleeping, so what is the point ha ha.Hugs
Guest guest
,I know how you fell about the wonderful aspects of having an at home gym. I have for the last 8 years, and dont know what I would do without it! In our old apartment, I had a spare room for it, and now in the new house, I also use the basement. I have a total gym machine,(the Chuck Norris one on tv) the ab doer, a great treadmill with different elevation , free weights, a large mat, steppers, the fanny lifter, a tv with vcr and about 20 workout tapes. The alternate days that I go to curves, I work out in the basement for 55 min a day. I love it! Its so easy, no pressure to get there on time, dont have to look decent, and when your done, you close the door, and take a shower! It is great! Mine is gone for the most part, but every now and then it seems to crop up for some reason. I'm thinking maybe allergies to some foods, but thank God I have improved as much as I have too. Guest guest
Patty, Well you know how I feel about exercise, so I do believe you should try to fit it in. I am very busy, working full time, and going to school but I still squeeze in the workouts, much easier now with the stuff at my house. Anyhow, it makes a huge difference in how I feel not just physically but mentally. It keeps me sane, makes me feel better about my body, and I know i look better for doing it too. You know the older we get the more body fat we accumulate, not to mention the health of our bones, so i really feel strongly that at some point we all have to just commit ourselves to working out. period. Anyhow hang in there, you can do it, just make the time and stick to it. It realy isn't that hard and you can get hooked on it, if i did anyone can. My math class is allgebra, it is still just elementay allgebra, I have to get all this stuff done before I can move on to the college allgebra and then the statistics class. I am also taking an English composition class. Both my teachers seem allot better this semester, my math teacher is really really good. She is so much better than my last semester one. hugs In , " Dave & Patty " <fdp3@c...> wrote: > , the brain fog was the worst symptom for me too, it was so awful, and you are lucky that yours went away completely. Guest guest
, Dave and I are going to look at the Bowflex XT at Costco this morning. He said he saw it there for $1300....I hope we can get it! Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: naturalbeauty38 Sent: Friday, January 16, 2004 10:13 AM Subject: Re: Helloooooo . . . Guest guest
Wow, , you sure have your own gym there! I wish we had a basement....we just got a Bowflex and it is squeezed into our bedroom, tight fit! But I expect it to be a great investment for us. Guest guest
Hey , So what made you join Curves I am curious, with all that stuff at home, were you getting bored or just looking to change things up a little bit? I love having this stuff at home. I think other than my bowflex I like the spinning bike the best. I can get the best fat burning workout on that thing, oh my heck it is wonderful. The eliptical machine is also really nice. We have free weights, and a yoga/pilates mat, tons of tapes too, but I really just like the machines the best. Way better than the gym, the only thing I guess I miss about the gym would be maybe the pool which I hardly ever used. I feel so much more toned and buffed from my bowflex it has me very impressed for sure. hugs C In , " JOSEPH PALANCA " <juliejp61@m...> wrote: >
Guest guest
, Pretty much for the same reason you got the bowflex, for more resistance training. Also to throw in a new style of work out hoping it would help me lose weight or more body fat. My neighbor joined, and my little guy goes to preschool prep on tuesday and Thurday, so I fugured I had this window of time to be free, and it would be nice to get around women and work out.Why not? Im in a stand still anyway.. You know throw the body off and do something new.Ive always been interested in the blow flex, as the total gym was great years back (Ive had it about 5 years) when I got it , but is hard as you keep having to get up to change it and move things around. It is great for squats and leg work though, thats a great workout, let me tell you! But the arms are more difficult to manuver to me. Anyway, keep me posted >From: "naturalbeauty38" >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Helloooooo . . .
