Yayy congrats mate! It will be amazing you will love it I'm sure the audie will

take care of everything and ensures it goes smOothly :)

Activation day - how vertigo get worse for dizzy people

Looking forward a bit to A-day (tomorrow). But a bit nervous too, given my

history of vertigo. So wanted to take a pulse - for folks with history of

vertigo - did activation make it worse? Like take a sick day worse ..

.. which brings me to a good question - did anyone have to take time off from

work after a-day at all?

Fingers and toes crossed :)

I had a bout of vertigo after the surgery but nothing after activation. I'm

hoping you'll have smooth sailing.

I had my surgery on a Friday and was back to work on Tuesday teaching (Monday

was a holiday).  That first 24 hours after the surgery I had to watch my

balance and had help to get around. After that it was fine.   However, 5

months later I had a vestibular evaluation as a prelude to having a 2nd implant

and was found to have very little balance on  the implanted ear and some loss

on the other as well.  Was it surgery or did I always have these problems

particularly with congenital cochlear and vestibular malformations?  You might

have similar problems if you have a history of vertigo.

Best of luck!

Harry

Congratulations! It's going to be so great when you get turned on, as long as

you keep your expectations low to begin with.

I've been activated three times and never had any dizziness, nauseau or anything

of the sort.

Good luck tomorrow!
