Guest guest
Hi raj! I have suffered tinnitus like for around 4 years now and the surgery didn't changw it at all. I only have tinnitus in my implanted ear (left) non in my right ear. Tinnitus after CI surgery Tinnitus - was happy to be rid of it since my last disastrous ear operation 23 years ago. Its back in full force after my surgery on Oct 3 - sounds " beep beep " like a garbage truck backing up when its good, and " Bam Bam " like a drum beating in my ear when its bad. Dr says its going to go away soon .. I wanted to ask if you have any experiences with this here my friends? Raj
Guest guest
Hi raj I had horrendous tinnitus after the operation, I had it previously many years ago but got rid of it so it was a bit off o shock to gear it again , and it was not just a ringing it was a horrendous screeching noise that goy louder and louder , but the tools news is that it is all but gone now , I think I remember waking up one morning and realizing that it was no longer there ! I got rid off my previous tinnitus years a ago by seeing a physio who specialized in cranial therapy ! I'm sure the physical trauma from the operation plays a big part and once your body settles d own again so will you tinnitus ! Neil Sent from my iPad. Hey Neil, I am hoping it will be like that for me again - fingers and toes crossed > I got rid off my previous tinnitus years a ago by seeing a physio who specialized in cranial therapy ! I'm sure the physical trauma from the operation plays a big part and once your body settles d own again so will you tinnitus ! That's my own theory .. when the inflammation goes down, so will the tinnitus. Let's hope so - the Dr started me on a course of anti-inflammatory pills. Guest guest
Hello, After my CI operation back in October of '02, I developed some tinnitis in the implanted ear & was concerned about it. It would get worst after I removed the processor before going to bed for the night. But, after about four months, the Tinnitis went mostly away. Once in awhile I would hear it faintly, but no big deal. But I did learn, while it was bothering me in the early days, not to dwell on it because the brain somehow makes it worst than it really is. I wish you the best. Hope this helps...Barry in Pa. Nucleuscontour 24 3-G > > Tinnitus - was happy to be rid of it since my last disastrous ear operation 23 years ago.
